My partner and I celebrated the valentine's day at Cafe Ysabel. They served a special menu for the vday. We ordered three mushroom consomme for soup, Argentine Cut US Angus & Roast Rack of Lamb for main course with red wine and Peter Pan Pie with Strawberries for dessert. Though it may seem a little bit pricey but it'll be... More

We dined here for lunch. The house is a stunning prewar work of art. I loved the high ceilings and the woodwork. That said, because it is an old house, it's not wired for high powered lights meant to serve a busy restaurant. So, prepare to use your phone's flashlight to read the menu. I haven't had lengua in a... More

Manila is an old city with a tradition of beautiful wooden houses. Unfortunately, rapid development and urbanization, including poor urban planning, has led to many old buildings being torn down and replaced. That makes Cafe Ysabel an anomaly. They've been serving a mishmash of continental, Spanish and Filipino food for 30 years in a refurbished 1920s home, and they continue... More

This iconic award winning restaurant is situated in a 1927 ancestral home. I've closed so many deals in this restaurant since the 80s. Now my kids enjoy the restaurant as well. Chef Gene Gonzalez-an institution in the culinary world, is amazing. Customers are treated as friends. He surprised as with a free appetizer and desert! This restaurant is here to... More

Their food is average, and the serving is small. Service is not good too. There is indoor smoking without proper ventilation. Very unpleasant for non-smokers. Their rice is very dry and not cooked well.

'Been here a number of times and I'd say that the quality of service seems to have diminished. While waiting for our food orders to arrive, servers were obnoxious enough to mock the tip left by a group who stepped out of the resto, saying "barya barya lang" loud enough for us to hear. Well, I believe they just got... More

The food in Cafe Ysabel is satisfactory to say the least and I found some of the dishes on the salty side. Here are a list of dishes we tried: - Caesar Salad was very soggy - Cheese Pizza was good. If I do go back it will be for the pizza. - Carbonara was too salty - Salpicao was... More
