The ambience is that of an old Manila house, with solid wood floors, wooden details on wall mouldings and staircase. Service is great, and the show is festive and lively. The tourists who went there seem to enjoy the show, which lasted for about an hour. The musicians are very talented, although the sound amplifier can be improved. After the... More

two in one. fine dining while watching a series of traditional Filipino dance. barbara's is the only restaurant in town i know that offers this kind of entertainment. their food is a smorgasbord of Italian and Filipino dishes. I liked their carbonara even if it has not enough sauce but it did not lose the creamy taste that I often... More

We visited barbaras while in Manila on a business trip. I didn't know what to expect but it really was amazing. The dancing and the music was really enjoyable. We even got called upon to join in on the dance and we had our photo taken. Also they welcome each group individually. The buffet food was delicious so many choices... More

The food is good but shouldn't be the main attraction. Go for the cultural dance show - they have excellent musicians and dancers and they go all out for costumes. Buffet Dinner is at P710.00 but if you just like to grab a drink or desserts (Below P200) you have to pay additional P350 for the show. Reservation during the... More

Barbara's is one of those fine dining restaurants in Manila, themed after an old stone house with Spanish-Filipino cuisine. Situated beside the oldest church in the Philippines, San Agustin Church, inside the restored Intramuros walled city, Barbara's dining experience recreates a feeling of the past and much like how elite Filipinos may have dined during the Spanish era in the... We tried Barbara's after a Bambike tour. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Linguine Pesto, however I found the Fettuccine Carbonara disappointing. The sauce wasn't creamy and the accompanying garlic bread was bland. The highlight was the fresh watermelon juice. If you choose to get pasta I recommend avoiding creamy sauces.

As I write this my boyfriend is in the bathroom, sick from the food here. Luckily I avoided this terrible outcome, although I do feel a little queasy and definitely grumpy at how greasy, salty and overpriced this food was. Every big city has a tourist trap like this. White tablecloths, colonial decor and traditional musicians hide the low quality... More

...and food. Very calm lunch break with string entertainment, which means a band playing Spanish music. Maybe only suggestion would be to introduce buffet price for kids.

What's hot: a. The food. The food is well-prepared, true Filipino home cooking; though there are some dishes that aren't Pinoy. The food is a delight to the taste buds. Food we had at that time: Lechon, roast beef, paella, pasta (I cannot remember what kind), rosemary chicken, pick salmon with spinach b. The ambience. The ambience is lovely and... More

My third trip to Manila and colleague suggested this place for a weekend dimner. The restaurant gives a feel of a old Spanish place with wooden interiors and furnitures (furnitures calls for some improvement), place is a little congested and prior reservation is must. The place is quite popular with foreigners and gets really busy. Staff is however helpful and... More
