Maybe I put my expectation higher. The food was just ordinary. We didn't pick buffet, we choice their lunch set. My wife pick their Wagyu beef set and I take their Cod fish as it show was their best recommendation in the menu. I feel the fish is a bit too salty. The food is a bit over price but... More

Ate here at the end of a long day travelling and being up around 30 hours...despite that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal with a selection of wonderfully fresh sushi dishes plus a number of other dishes...all really good. Despite being so tired and it was the start of our trip it was one of the highlights of our holiday

It was dinner time and the restaurant was dimly lit. Ordered teppanyaki chicken, tempura soba and a glass of cold soba. The soba was nice with its soup just a little saltish. The teppanyaki chicken was accompanied with green veggies in sesame salad sauce, liked it. I selected cold sake that is sweet and dry. The music played in the... More

I was here with my sister to celebrate her birthday. The sashimi is very fresh and the noodles is very tasty with generous portion (we didn't manage to finish and ended take-away). The server, Mr Ezra is very attentive and regularly checking in to ensure we are comfortable. The manager, Kamoshida-san is very highly customer focus, he attend to our... More

The menu seemed expensive compared to other local eating places. However, the quality of the food was so good that it was worth the extra money. This is the best Japanese food we have all had. The sushi was particularly good. Staff were friendly and advised us with the order for portion sizes.

If you intend to eat at this fantastic brunch buffet which is only available on Sundays, please make your reservations early to avoid disappointment as they are really popular and full almost every weekends. The variety may not be as wide as other Japanese buffet in town but the of superb quality and taste. Personal favourites include the saft shell... More

OK, i order Kobe premium with Wagyu Foie gras/seared sea urchin ( Japanese beef) with RM325.90 (plus 10% service fee and 6 GST). It is not bad but certainly not the best or even worth the money. I tried same type of beef in Japan many different cities and best i had is in Tokyo. Here in Shangari-la, i paid... More

We went to the place for Sunday's brunch buffet. The salmon sashimi tasted divine. I particularly loved their prawn tempura. Large and fresh prawns. In addition, the chef at the teppanyaki counter was really nice and helpful. The dish tasted great as well. Their garlic fried rice tastes so so but their grill salmon head was really delicious as well... More

After having posted a very negative review of the hotel's Japanese restaurant a few months ago, I decided to give it a new try on this visit. Nothing has changed : after being ushered to a table and given the menu, it was impossible to attract a staff member attention in a restaurant half-empty. I left after twenty minutes of... More
