I was there with my son yesterday. Both agreed that the food was not very authentic. My cha soba was bland. The tempura fried pieces were soft without the crunchiness and the dipping sauce did not daikon radish in it. My son's teriyaki chicken sauce...tasted weird and the sashimi was so so. Overall, we felt that the food did not even taste like authentic Japanese. And the food was pricey too. Definitely not worth it.More

Sashimi quality is excellent and they have a few house rolls that are different than the norm. The service used to be excellent but for some reason, it has gone downhill in the past year. The waiters don't seem to care and don't attend the...tables unless you call them even if they notice your order is late or you seem to indicate you need something. The prices are not cheap but rather middle of the road. No longer my favorite sushi place.More

We were looking for Japanese food... their customer service and dish explanation by their employee was good to outsiders like us. We ordered sushi roll and Tofu kimchi. Quick to tables! Loved both.

please don't bother to visit this restaurant. we ordered 3 lunch sets, ramen with tempura, udon with sushi and ramen with gyoza set. all taste horrible. i think they reuse the oil so tempura taste weird and oily and stink. ramen soup is awful. the...gyoza is hard, the sushi not fresh. the udon being the easiest also taste bad due to udon overcook and too soft. even the chawanmushi is bad not smooth. worse food ever. the service is ok though only less than half full during a busy weekday lunch time.More

For a quick lunch, this is a good place to come for variety of Japanese dishes, in the famous SURIA KLCC. Chicken teriyaki set comes with tidbits and 3 kinds of sashimi, bowl of miso soup and a bowl of rice. Chicken was grilled to...perfection, however teriyaki sauce was a bit bland. Kamo meshi with smoked duck meat was also quite good. Sake bomb maki has too much rice, and just a bit too big for a bite. Anyhow, good valued set lunch for sure.More

Good variety of sushi and other Japanese food. Clean and nice restaurant. Quick service and the taste of food is very good. We went this time for the maki rolls. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Did not use Japanese rice - unforgivable. I mean, for heavens sake, even the Japanese stalk in a food court uses Japanese rice! Chawanmushi is atrocious. Service (except the two managers) was appalling - I was brought to a seat without menus; served food without...uttering a single word or a smile.More

am impressed with the menu on offer but settle for tempura mori is equally delicious and the honey lemon drink is just right

I can´t say that Umai Ya was terrible, it just wasn´t very good. Nothing tasted particular notable, the flavours were pretty much indistinguishable. The ramen dish I had really was pretty poor, with a broth that tasted like they had just made it with a...stock cube. In such a fancy shopping centre next to the Petronas Twin Towers I am sure you can do much better than this - even on a modest budget.More
