This is an ideal restaurant to visit especially if you are staying close to KL Sentral railway station being just one stop away at Pasar Seni on the LRT line. From there it is just a 5 min. walk. It use to be the old guild hall. The walls have many interesting Chinese paintings and photographs which give the restaurant... More

I love this cafe. the food is good, the service is prompt, and the decoration of the cafe makes me feel like I'm in a Wong Kar Wai film. I particularly like the beef rendang. In fact, any nyonya cuisine is good here. I have to admit, having dinner here on a rainy evening, enjoying the food, with the sound... More

After arriving in Kl and staying in Chinatown, ran a near me now search on trip advisor and this place came up just round corner and it sounded amazing. WRONG !!!!!! Went around 19:00 and place was totally empty which was ok as was hungry after trip and easily seated but food was just same old as you get at... More

Had dinner at Old China Cafe after hearing some good reviews. I'm disappointed with the menu really - would have expected more unique peranakan dishes particularly those from Melaka. It's more of run-of-the-mill nyonya dishes like nyonya laksa, pie tee, etc. Was expecting ayam buah keluak next to their babi pong teh and itik tim. We ordered kari kapitan, stir... More

Loved Old China cafe. Beef rendang and sweet and sour chicken for main course were both delicious and you need to try to 'top hats' as an appetiser - we loved them.

Whenever I have overseas guests in town I always try my best to suggest an outing to try nyonya food and since we happen to be showing some Americans Chinatown. The option for this cafe popped up and we all weren't disappointed at all. Entering this cafe with wood doors was like a classic scene from a cowboy movie, the... More

Nice old-school setting, and the food was great. Took coconut laksa, loved it, as well as various cold teas. Highly recommended.

Venue: 5/5 Food: 3/5 For those interested in seeing historic, cultural environments in KL, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. As this appeals to me, this more than made up for some 'ok' food. I wont go into detail on the setting as plenty of pics available but suffice to say it is brilliant. We ordered the top hats... Lots of atmosphere, a touch of old KL that is rapidly disappearing. Usually crowded but service not bad. Nyonya dishes are worth a try--kari kapitano(?) chicken was tasty and just spicy enough. Iced coffee was delicious. Plenty of fruit juice options. Reasonable prices.

we overall enjoyed the ambience and the food there, and we were the only local during the dinner time. and the only Chinese male waiter, really unfriendly and no patience in explaining the menu and service too, but the other are fine.. if you are only giving good service for tourists or foreigner, sorry no next time !
