Nowhere entering this place does it say CASH ONLY. Then they try to get you to pay ridiculous ATM fees. The cashier was like there’s a sign right here. It was small and not noticeable on the way out. Credit card fees are very minimal...these days. I don’t mind cash only if you’re very up front about it. They were not. Food was ok. Nothing extraordinary. Will never return.More

The food was delicious and came in very good portions, it was fairly expensive, but the meal came with a trip to the salad bar and drinks. The service was also very good, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

First time here and we really enjoyed it. While they have a menu, we did the $13 buffet (includes drinks and tax) and found that it had a generous variety of good food -- fish, chicken, bbq, shrimp, meatloaf, veggies, salads, desserts (including ice cream!)....Friendly service. We will be back! Note: they are cash-only!More

The only good thing about this place was Renee, our waitress! The old man that, takes the money is rude and they only take cash. They do have an ATM that looks like it would give out counterfeit 20’s. I wonder if the IRS knows...they don’t charge tax! The food was not very good but, they did have a few desserts that, were pretty good! I would NOT recommend this place to any of my family! Also, the room wear we were sitting smelled like old dirty mop water and we were in a SEAFOOD restaurant and still smelled it!More

Do not let the full parking lot fool you.inside is very old but nice.this food is terrible, and so is the service.the country style steak was nasty. Heavy breading with very little meat. This tasted like cardboard.the oyster stew had small pieces of shell.the calabash...was cold.my tea was never re filled.go to the old farmhouse for better food. SeeMore

Extensive buffet. The night I ate, country ham, fried salt pork, fried fish and numerous vegetable were on the bar. There were other meat selections but I had the ones listed. Restaurant is old and rustic but I went for the food and I thoroughly...enjoyed it. Restaurant was very crowded which is a good sign that people go for the food and not the building. Several desserts and ice cream were available but I had to pass on the desserts. Very reasonably priced.More

We were traveling and saw a sign advertising Jay’s so we thought we’d give it a try. The restaurant is older and worn out. We were told the buffet was good, so we decided to try it. The seafood on the buffet was all fried...and greasy. Everything on it was poor quality and cheap. Another strange thing is that they only take cash. I recommend trying something else, unless you like fried and greasy artery clogging food.More

Jays is local favorite for fish and shrimp but their buffet bar offers great food for folks that don’t like seafood. Basically you can order from their menu which has many of the favorite dishes found at most seafood restaurants. But for $12.00 cash, you...can eat off their buffet bar that has at least 3 types of fish, fried shrimp, various meats and vegetables, a large salad bar, oyster stew and soft serve ice cream. Jays doesn’t accept any credit cards so it is cash or check only. They do have at ATM machine available inside. The $12.00 buffet price includes tax and your drink. You can also order salt and pepper fish and shrimp from the kitchen at no extra charge, just ask your server. Jays is out in the country but well worth the drive.More
