Normally you have to wait more than 20 min in a queue. But the quality of fishes is excellent. You have to try once in your life. In addition, you can satisfy with less than 40 USD per person. I tried several Michelin stars restaurants....this shop is...5 Michelin stars for me! The restaurant locates in the local shopping mall. If you can not get in this Harukoma, you can also try Sushimasa where is just in front of Harukoma!!More

This is for the main location which is slightly off the main Tenjinbashisuji shopping street 天神橋筋商店街,the longest covered shopping street in Japan. There's also a second branch located on this shopping street further south, bigger and cleaner. The main store always have a line competing...for the roughly 20 seats in a small restaurant. English is not a common language in Japan and among Japanese, so misunderstanding and staff coming across rude can happen. I don't speak Japanese but if one observes how others do things, you can pick up quickly what needs to be done even for a first timer like me. Came here on a weekday just past 11am their opening time. There's already a queue of about 10-12 people in front of me, I peeked inside it was fully occupied. That means the first wave of patrons probably lined up way before 11am to be admitted as soon as they open. So we waited patiently in line. In the meantime I saw people in front reading the multilingual menu and writing numbers on a scratch pad. So I grabbed a menu and it has photos, descriptions and prices in English and other languages. I selected what I like. The whole process is meant to streamline so minimum wait as soon as you are invited in when space becomes available. More importantly it reduces chance of error by wait staff who I imagine have rudimentary to non existent English skill having to deal with us foreign tourists verbally. So if you understand this process, I don't believe they discriminate tourists. On this day I heard Korean, Japanese, English, Chinese, Indonesian and others I don't recognize being spoken. So there's a wide variety of nationalities all aiming for good sushi with good value. Anyway about 40 minutes into the wait, we got in. Order came within 5 minutes or so. Believe me, they weren't premade. I saw them put ours together after we got in. By adhering to the way they operate you can enjoy great sushi and great prices with minimum hassle. This is one of the times when overwhelming positive reviews here and other sites are true. On the other hand you will always find a few unlucky souls who don't agree.More

Located at the Tenma Shopping Street which you can either reach via JR or Subway. It is one of the easiest location one can get decent sushi in Osaka without breaking the bank. The sushi is fresh and all made to order. Do note it...is a small shop so all have to squeeze into a small counter (there are a couple of tables). I would suggest going a little earlier (slight before 5) to ensure there is ample space or else one may be asked to wait.More

Came here with my boyfriend after seeing the amazing reviews on trip advisor, and we queued for a little while before entering. We ordered a few dishes while in the queue so they didn't take long when we sat down. They were all really fresh...and tasted amazing. Little warning there is some wasabi in every bit of sushi for those who aren't expecting it!More

Very small restaurant. Upon entering, seemed like we are the only tourist, therefore i knew we have gotten to the right place. Lotsa fresh and flavourful sushi options. Oishi! The tamago tuna belly and premium unagi sushi were my favourites. Will be back for sure....Oishi oishi oishi!More

We wanted to have some sushi for dinner on our last night in Osaka and decided to go to Harukoma at Tenjinbashi as we read online reviews that it is mostly patronised by locals. The reviews were spot on. Except for my wife and I...and an American couple seating next to us, as far as we can tell, the rest of the guests were all Japanese. As we were there near closing time, there was a short queue ahead of us. We waited for less than 10 minutes before we were shown to our seats. We understand the wait could be more than 30 minutes during peak hours. We wrote our orders on a piece of paper and placed them directly with the sushi chefs working behind the counter (there were 4 of them). There is an English menu, so ordering is not a problem. Service is efficient and they are friendly towards non-Japanese customers. The sushi chef serving us tried to strike up a conversation by asking where we were from as he prepared our order. The quality of the sushi is good and the price is reasonable. My wife and I had a good meal, at least 10 pieces of sushi each (including some tuna toro) and two bowls of soup for about US$25. Besides enjoying good sushi, this is a great way to experience the sights and sounds of a local Japanese restaurant.More

The restaurant area is kinda small. I always have to be careful when I was eating. One bad thing about this restaurant, smoking is allowed inside. Despite all that, the sushi was at reasonable price and and super fresh. The quality is good and all...the portion is incredibly big. Too much of seafood, too less of rice. The itamae was very friendly, he even recommended us the nice sushi and teach us how to eat. Try to avoid peak hour as this restaurant will be always having long queue.More

We visited for lunch and it was delicious. Green tea on arrival and very reasonably priced. They prepare the food right in front of you and it is very fresh. The people were so lovely. Our server made us a love heart omelette too which...was cute and funny.More

I have never been there for lunch. I have enjoyed several dinners there and the prices are extremely reasonable.

You have to order the sushi plate by plate. Each sushi comes in pairs.
