We found this place accidentaly while looking for a tea/coffee to drink. The owner doesn’t speak english, but it was’t a problem. He has a lot of good coffees and a huge vinyl record library. Even some traditional Swiss music!

Very good bacon snacks, very nice atmosphere with good music.... Thousands of vinyl records throughout the shop. During the time we stayed the owner played Django Reinhardt, Yves Montand and John Lennon...

We stumbled across this gorgeous place while walking towards the Kinkaku-Ju Temple.
Desperate for a coffee to start our morning we saw an open sign outside Cafe Zino. We walked into a room filled with loads of vinyls, great books and antique furniture. The owner was lovely and made us delicious coffee served in gorgeous cups. The menu is written in Japanese so we are not sure if they serve food, but we didn't care. The atmosphere and coffee were enough for us.
After finding out we are Australian the owner then changed the record to Waltzing Matilda by Lionel Long, which topped off a lovely experience at Cafe Zino.

Nishijin District
A district with a long textile heritage, ancient Kyoto is still alive in the Nishijin District. Studded with its weaving factories, tea houses, and onsen, the neighborhood is charming and peaceful with a self-possessed air. Less traveled than other parts of the city, it is a district where you can take it at your own pace. Visitors can explore the many weaving and cloth houses, the free kimono shows, and the many shops selling traditional clothing and goods. Showcasing architecture with sloping roofs and wooden reliefs dating to decades past, the streets in the Nishijin District transport you back in time, making them a joy to wander.
