Cosy and wonderfully designed, taking you back to the old days of bars and lounges. Crackly vinyl sounds of jazz and even some early Doris Day swoons. Great choice in whiskey selections.

My wife and I caught up with some friends at this bar on the 04/11/2019. We sat at the bar trying different whiskey and relaxing to the Jazz music that was playing in the background. It has a good selection of whiskey and is a...very classy. A shirt and nice pair of jeans is fine. I rated this very good but not excellent for the following reasons; You had to get the staffs attention to be served a drink and we were sitting at the bar. Many people smoke in this place which stinks the place out. Being a non smoker, this was annoying. Like most whiskey bars it is pricey. It's worth a visit if you can get past the smoke and you enjoy whiskey.More
A lovely quaint little bar that is common in the area. This one seems to have the pull factor they all crave for. Unfortunately we weren’t impressed. Waiting 25 minutes to order a whiskey sour , it came out after another 25. 50 minutes for...a whiskey sour that looked and tasted like a glass of champagne. We decided it was best not to finish them and paid and left. Perhaps there was a communication barrier however, we didn’t come back.More
We were walking along Pontocho Alley and happened upon this bar that said it played jazz. We walked in and they were playing great jazz from vinyl records. Made good gin martini’s (even dirty martini’s which are hard to come by.) The decor suited the...vibe and we’re glad we found it, evidently so were many of the other guests as it was full. If you’re on a stroll along the alley one evening and like Jazz and feel like a drink - I’d definitely stop in!More
Stopped by here one night by chance, and what a spot! Cozy little bar with such a cool vibe. Awesome jazz played off vinyl records which i loved, and a fantastic selection of drinks. Enjoyed a few cracker local whiskies and met some super fun...people whilst sitting at the bar. Staff were friendly, knowledgable and impeccably dressed. Will definitely head back next time we're in Kyoto!More
Very enjoyable experience; good live jazz by local musicians; good service; good G+T. I would highly recommend this small venue and would happily return.
We stopped by for drinks on vacation. They had a nice selection of cocktails and alcohol. Had a delicious Moscow mule.
Good music. Cozy. Great ambiance. Excellent bartender. Makes an excellent old fashioned. Feels homey and at the same time has the Kyoto feel.
This is a very small and cosy bar. It however has but of a grubby feel to it with old looking carpets and furniture. However The cocktails were great.
The cover charge for the live jazz is a bit steep but well worth it when you're on vacation. Be aware, they do allow smoking, as many bars in Japan do, so if you're sensitive to smoke, that's something to consider. The drinks weren't the...most well crafted that we had in Japan, but the jazz (which was live but not too loud) was a nice change of pace.More
Great selection of whiskeys and wonderful jazz. We went back for a second visit and it was just as outstanding as the first night. The Manhattan is out of this world, and the preparation is fun to watch. Not ostentatious Tom Cruise Cocktail style. Just...an obvious attention to detail that you can taste. It will be on our itinerary every time we go to Kyoto.More
My sister and I went when they first opened for the night and were seated immediately. They have many liquors and drinks to choose from. We got a couple of gin and tonics and Moscow mules. It’s a very relaxing bar to for great conversations....Unfortunately there was no live band while I was thereMore
Vintage feeling American style jazz bar. Great find on its street of many amazing bars. Definitely not traditional style Kyoto joint - but a fun place to switch it up. Interesting atmosphere, vintage glassware - views of the river in the back.Very fun and intimate.
Loved this place because it was very small with a gorgeous vintage atmosphere. We stayed for two sets played by the four-piece band and the highlight was the tunes that were whistled by the female singer - we loved it. The drinks are vintage and...the pricier whisky was strong - my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this pop in experience.More
We were there 2 evenings One with live music I tried a few cocktails The margarita and martini were great The Moscow mule not so good The service and atmosphere is great The music from vinile is magic Prices are ok for the venue Good...place for a nice conversation in an alluring atmosphereMore
