I heard that it is better than Ichiran Ramen. But Ichiran is better ... Um.... I had Sio ramen (the most popular and Original?). Soup is clear, light and salty compared with ichiran.(i think ichiran is deep and greasy ,nutty flavor) Chasu is tasty with noddle.But...More

I was not happy with the topping options. You could only ask for pork, and even though I ordered a soy based bowl, it was too greasy for my taste. Adding the pork to that, it was just too much.

The ramen here is overrated and we did not enjoy it. The soup is just salty. Not creamy, not rich, just salty. The gyoza was mediocre; not worth the long queue. The only reason why it's not rated 1 star is because the pork was...More

Took our number and waited for almost 2 hours to get our seats. Due to super good review in Tripadvisor, we decided to wait. Only 8-9 seats available at a time with 2 very hardworking ladies. We ordered Miso Ramen and Kyo no Shio Ramen....More

Shinkyogoku Shopping District
Those who delight in shopping and cuisine will find
themselves at home in Shinkyogoku. Lauded and visited
by locals for its Nishiki Market, where baskets of
fragrant spices, dried fish, and just-fried foods are
piled high along the snaking streets of its enclosed
outdoor shopping spaces, Shinkyogoku is not only a hub
for fresh fare, but also for fast fashion fixes.

Yes they do! They have a soy milk- and kelp-based soup broth. There is also a miso-version. However I don't know if they use dashi in the miso-based soup. Just make sure to tell them that you want a vegetarian version.

From the thousand-year history of Kyoto to the thousand winds in the sky, we present an unforgettable taste carefully prepared for each and every one of our customers. In line with our store’s concept of Health-Conscious Ramen, we present quality ingredients and a delicious taste in every bowl. Our ingredients are natural and safe, and our tonkotsu (pork-based) soup comes in four delicious varieties: the slightly salty Shio, the soy sauce-based Shoyu, our Miso flavor-based ramen, and our Spicy Miso-based ramen. Also on offer are ramen dishes such as our seafood-based Sen no Shio; the seafood/soy sauce-based Kii Soba; and our pork-free, delightfully simple Su Ramen. Please feel free to leisurely enjoy the relaxing atmosphere – the owner loves jazz music! – at our shop. We hope you’ll find Ramen Sen no Kaze an easy place to dine, even alone. We do our utmost best to deliver a small bit of happiness in every bowl we serve.
