We just came back from eating at this ramen shop. We got the classic special, and it was truly delicious. The lady who took our order could speak English very well and was very kind. We'll definitely come here again for another bowl of ramen.

While there was nothing wrong with the ramen here, there was also nothing special. We expected better given the rating. Also as someone who understands some Japanese, I noticed that not only did the English menu we were given appear to have less options, when...they were serving Japanese customers they asked about how they would like the ramen noodles cooked, but didn't ask us as westerners. This restaurant does offer a vegetarian ramen which I'm sure would be very welcome to vegetarians. English here was overall pretty good.More

Came here twice in one week for the Vegan ramen. Garlic can be provided ob request, which I totally recommend. One of the best we’ve had and judging by others reaction, their ramens seem top notch. Highly recommend popping by while hitting up the Nishiki...Market before/after.More

I ate here twice on my recent trip. Ippudo always has a warm welcome and delicious food. I tend to go for the classic tonkotsu broth with their gorgeous bite size gyoza on the side...utterly scrumptious and so very filling! There is usually a queue...to eat here, so I suggest having a late lunch/early dinner if you don't want to wait as the place is almost empty 3-5pmMore

Since I've been in Japan, I think I am becoming a bit of a ramen aficionado. The ramen at Ippudo is one of my favourites. Generous amount of chasu--not too fatty, firm straight noodles, nicely boiled egg, and bean sprouts. The gyoza are smaller than...others, but they make up for it by doubling the amount. Service was fast & friendly. English menu available. Popular with both locals and tourists. Can get busy a peak hours but I walked in and was seated immediately at 19.30 on a Saturday night. Just a few minutes walk from Nishiki Market. I will definitely return before I leave Kyoto.More

I finished a busy day sightseeing in the Shinjiki Market area and went to this ramen place as it was highly recommended on Trip Advisor. The line took about 30 minutes at 1pm to get in to sit down, but the service was excellent as...the young lady at the counter came out onto the street and provided you with a menu in English (she also spoke perfect English). She then took your order which meant that when you sat down your meal arrived very quickly. I ordered the Ippudo Karaka (Spicey pork ramen with minced meat - 8 spice level heat) and Gyoza on the side. The ramen was the right amount of heat for a medium but the broth was lacking a little depth ion flavour for mine - did not compare with some of the ramens that I had tasted over the previous days. The ramen was fine overall, but not worth heading back for another round - price was not too bad (1,440 yen) - service was excellent.More

Came here for lunch on our last day in Kyoto. I got the spicy ramen with the minced meat and my husband got the ramen with pork along with the gyozas and they were all great! It’s a perfect little spot if you’re looking for...a casual, cozy, inexpensive lunch.More

Just a short walk from Karasuma Station and Nishiki Market, Ippuddo was the perfect place to go for lunch after a morning of exploring. The place gets full but we were pretty fortunate to get a seat for 4 altogether. There is a lot more...to the menu than Ichiran so we each ordered something different. They were all good, but I found my spicy miso ramen to be more on the salty side. The service was top notch and the price was very reasonable.More

We read about his ramen restaurant in one of guide books are were very pleased. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a couple of seats at a counter shared by other diners. The ramen dishes are delicious, with lots of excellent ingredients. there...are plenty of condiments and sauces available to suit one's taste, as well as a pitcher of excellent, unsweetened iced tea always available.More

On offer are combination meals of Ramen and Gyoza. The Ramen broth is so full of flavour, it is just delicious. There was a queue but you don’t wait for long and it’s worth the wait.
