Looking towards a more Western Breakfast, this was close to my Ryokan. English speaking staff make service easy but this is not mind-blowing but just simple, clean and the quick start before exploring Kyoto.

Ordered the pastrami with egg on toast along with a coffee. Food tasted nice enough but wasnt particularly special. After queuing for 20mins to get in expected more. If you're into your pastries then you would probably enjoy it more as the bakery had a...More

Food was average nothing special. The cafe is very Americanized (unfortunately not service though), nothing wrong with that but if you want some local experience don’t come here. In our visit something crazy happened. A waitress came at one point offering bread in a bread...More

Late for breakfast, but had an excellent brunch. Bread and pastries are delicious. Perfect when the hotel does not include breakfast. The French toast was our favourite! Pricier than average but quality and excellent service worth it!

Next door to Royal Park hotel and open at 7am, what a great way to start a day. Croissants are very good and staff are friendly. Fills up quickly in morning with tourists.

The menu stated " pear tart, with drink 890 yen", so we ordered two tarts, with two cappuccinos". The tart was small and tasteless, and the cappuccino was watery and tasteless. When the bill came, we were charged 2480 yen. When I protested, I was...More

Love this place. Take away French toast bread thing which was delicious and cinnamon donuts every morning which we’d take down the road to eat with a Starbucks coffee.

The Shinshindo restaurant has delicious food, and I especially recommend the hamburger steak. The hamburger steak is juicy and savory, and there are healthy vegetables with the delicious sauce beside it, but the downside of this restaurant is that the service and some of the...More

City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its
blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered
shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street
bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to
peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home
goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center
is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and
clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of
