We waited for over an hour for a table, but it was totally worth it. This was one of the top 3 meals I had in Japan (and I went to a lot of the top rated restaurants). The Okonomiyaki is amazing.

Great food, nice and authentic environment. We really enjoyed our lunch here, worth a try if you are nearby. Reasonable prices. Accept card payments.

Don’t be intimidated by the fact that you can’t see inside the restaurant or that you have to take your shoes off at the front. AMAZING food, friendly staff, great sake.

We found this place on Trip Advisor, and the food was the best we have eaten in Japan!!! Amazing noodles and a real authentic Japanese setting. Sit on the floor on cushions around a table and shoes off at the door. Full of locals but...More

Wonderful okonomiyaki with generous fillings and not so eggy. My husband loved it! The fried noodles, in my opinion, tasted good but not outstanding as I prefer savoury noodles instead of sweet ones. Price is reasonable. Place is quite small, not suitable for big groups,...More

Gion is Kyoto's famed Geisha District (called "Geiko"
