My husband and I visited this restaurant whilst holidaying in Kyoto. Lovely service and an English menu, we tried a set meal for two which included sashimi, tempura, a chicken broth, hot soba and dessert for 8000 yen. Very tasty, beautifully served lovely evening.

Freshly made soba noodles and friendly staff. The cold soba with vegetables was very tasty. Great alternative for vegetarians!

This restaurant was near our hotel so, after reading the reviews, we ventured there for dinner. It was very busy so we put our name down and waited on the bench outside. It was fascinating seeing the soba being made inside the building and left...you in no doubt as to its freshness. However, we found the soba and the soup to be quite tasteless, which was very disappointing. My recommendation is to only go if you are confident you will really enjoy buckwheat soba!More

We were staying a few doors down at Citadines and felt like an easy meal close by. We had no wait to get in and were seated upstairs. It’s a well oiled machine, being able to watch the noodles being made downstairs and staff equipped...with mics/walkies to get everyone seated and looked after efficiently. I had a dinner set that included cold soba and fresh veggies, delicious. I also tried some tempura and sake, both also lovely. Staff were super friendly and attentive. I liked how the upstairs area had screens between tables that offered some privacy. I stupidly knocked a dressing jar over and broke it and staff were non phased and polite, after me profusely apologising. A no fuss, affordable and enjoyable meal!More

Was recommended this place by a good friend and it did not disappoint! The soba and tempura was incredible. They are very accommodating and are happy to make the meal vegetarian if required. Also they provide english menus 👌 Try their craft beer, was delicious!

We found this place on TripAdvisor after we decided not to eat at the restaurant recommended by our hotel. We were greeted by friendly staff who were happy to accommodate us with our baby who was fast asleep in her stroller. We ordered a set...menu for 2 and were thrilled with the quality and taste. All the noodles are made fresh onsite and you can even watch them making and cutting the noodles! By the way the noodles were out of this world tasty! English menu was very helpful. Staff were chatty and engaging. No complaints at all.More

It’s only our second day in Kyoto. The ryokan where we’re staying recommended this place. The staff was lovely. The space is acceptable. The wood almost Alpine feel made us wonder whether we should have been there on a winter instead of summer night. Here’s...my complaint. I’m a bit obsessed with getting a reasonable quantity of food. For about $100 USD, my husband and I got the two people fixed price menu. The sashimi was ok. The tempura was excellent. But the grilled soup and fifth course was too much. We gave up after having eaten less than 1/3 of the meal, and we never even tasted the soba noodles. We clearly have a lot to learn when it come to ordering in Japan. We felt like we were at an American restaurant more than somewhere trying to give us enough food to take home in a doggie bag. There are far better places in the neighborhood.More

To all the visitors to Kyoto I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. Their dishes are unappetizing and too expensive!!!!

Warm summer night in Kyoto, so after a day of exploring, the hand made, cold soba noodles really tasted delicious. Attentive staff. This is a great local hangout.
