Truly a delight in the market area of Nishiki, let the ladies shop n the guys sample some great craft beers. Table foods are equally as good and highly recommended. This bar is one of few you will find that is open 11am onwards. Most...bars open 1700hrs.More

This is more of a restaurant than a bar. We dropped in about 6pm on a Friday and they were fully booked. As we only wanted beer they found a table we could have for a maximum of one hour which was fine for our...needs. The waitress had great english and was very helpful. They were selling six core beers including IPA, dark and Wheat styles. The Daydream was our favourite with its hint of spices. These were all the same prices: 360ml for 780 yen, 200ml for 480 yen and 600ml for 1200 yen. Six interesting-looking limited brews were available at slight higher prices, but we didn't have the time or capacity to try them.More

Wife & I wanted Meat I wanted a craft beer Walked past this place and it ticked the boxes so despite looking kinda upmarket and pricey we decided to give it a go So Glad we did The crowd was a mix of local and...tourists Great music and a good vibe Waiting staff were really really pleasant and helpful Ordered a beer and the food, beer came within minutes Unfortunately the wrong dish came out but I think that was a genuine mistake so they were very apologetic and it was defo worth the wait for our dish We got the meat platter ¥5000 (Steak, 2 big lamb chops, big piece of Miso Rib, 2 chicken wings and a Pork sausage. The platter was superb. My only criticism would be a few more roast vege’s rather than the half onion and two bits of carrot and half a capsicum......especially when the platter is touted for 3-4 pax! (And the chicken could have been seasoned a little more) We got a couple of other sides ¥700 +\- and we had 4 beers of various sizes ¥750-¥1200 and 1 glass of wine all in the meal cost ¥12000 Not the cheapest meal but the meat was superb especially the steak, chops and rib Staff were excellent as was the environment Would definitely go back here if I needed a wee break from Japanese foodMore

Popped in here a few times for a beer and also once for some lunch. Beers were good, for lunch we shared a pizza. Pizza was nice enough but nothing amazing.

We met a friend here, or rather a few blocks away and spent the first half of the evening wandering through the back streets trying to find it. Got there and got a corner table. Nice atmosphere, friendly and relaxed. Beer menu as extensive as...the food. The tasting menu was a good idea, and affordable, too. Food was plentiful and helped the beer go down. Young staff helped the atmosphere a lot by joking with the customers. Atmosphere changed as the evening wore on and groups left, but we felt no pressure to leave. Good place, once we found it.More

I believe there are a few of these venues in different Japanese cities, but we stopped in for a cheeky weekday lunch and beer. It’s located right in the thick of the Nishiki Market in a two story building. It appears to be a popular...venue for both locals and tourists. They have a lunch set which was great value, especially when paired with the beer tasting flight. All the beers were delicious, I was really impressed. Likewise, the meals were a winner. I sometimes don’t have success with salads in Japan, but this was both plentiful and perfectly done. My partner was very impressed with his burger. Service was generally very pleasant, apart from one server who seemed disinterested. Great lunch out to break up the traditional Japanese food, while sampling some local beers.More

We decided to come try out Spring Valley to do a flight and taste their beer one evening, however, we enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back for dinner 2 nights later! The first time we arrived we tried a flight of...their bee, which consists of a full-bodied IPA, a pilsner named after their founder, a smooth and rich dark beer, a fruity wheat beer, a light citrus beer, and a raspberry beer. It was a very good combination of beers and we actually enjoyed them all. The dark beer may not have been our absolute favorite, but we were glad to try it. The second time we came back we had in mind to get a Margarita Pizza as we saw some women eating one on our first visit and it made our mouths water. It was just as good as it looked!!! And big; we split it and were both satisfied. Since I really enjoyed the Raspberry beer called Jazzberry when we did the tasting, I had 2 glasses of that! My husband tried their "On a Cloud" beer, infused with cucumber. They have a list of these infused drinks and although they are a bit more expensive, he really thought it was the most amazing thing. They brought him up to the bar where he got to watch them take a cucumber in this machine and take out all the juice, then infuse it with the beer. The machine then drained the beer into a tap that poured it into his glass perfectly. He was so impressed. Then we tasted the beer, and yes, it totally had a slight taste of cucumber, but it didnt take away from the flavor of the beer. It was the perfect drink! The service here was amazing. Everyone was so attentive and polite. When we left (both times) each employee working stopped what they were doing and thanked us for coming and told us to enjoy our night. It made us feel so appreciated and valued as guests. This place really is the entire package!More

The brewery is in a good location for a bit of respite from Nishiki Market. We popped in for a pizza and a beer flight. The pizza was very tasty and the beer flight was a very reasonable price compared to other beer places we...had visited in Japan. Service was good.More

Had wanted to go to nearby Nishiki Market for lunch but it was too crowded. Chanced upon this brewery and discovered that they have roast beef don set lunch with a small glass of beer. Wow, why not! The shop interior was spacious and comfortable....The service staff was welcoming though still gave the diner enough privacy. There was a beer appreciation session going-on on my day of visit where the staff was explaining to two young adults on the craft beer brewing process. The set lunch has a few option and I chose the roast beef since I have not been having enough beef in Japan. The set came with a small salad, a small glass of beer (about 300ml) that you could choose its flavour and the roast beef don was very yummy. I forgot what I chose but it was refreshing and slight citrussy. And, there was a cup of coffee to end the meal. Wow. Thank you SVB for welcoming even if I'm dining solo.More

Finding hidden gem in Kyoto is not difficult. I found accidentally the relaxing place. Originally, their main is beer, but they also provide many foods which are matching specific beer. Foods quality is very good, and reasonable, specially lunch time. They renovate Machiya style house...to the restaurant so you may see beautiful tiny garden, Tsuboniwa. BGM Jazz makes you happy moment. Kids friendly. No parking, so please visit there by walk.More
