Just to the west of Nishki market area. A bar with most people sitting at tables and eating. However, there was no problem with us sitting on stools on the side and just drinking beer. Modern music (rather than jazz) in the background. Waiter service,...very friendly and good English. Nine craft beers on tap including amber, copper, golden, saison, stout, belgian white and dunkel wiesen all between 5 and 6 per cent. Small glass (270ml) 600-750 yen, medium (370) 800-950 yen and large (420) 1000-1150 yen. We had four beers of which two were good and two were very good. Our favourite was the copper style beer called Beer No.6 "Voyager Brewing ".More

Decent range of craft beers, food looked but but didn’t eat. Prices are similar to craft beer elsewhere in Kyoto and generally in Japan.

Really nice open and fresh bar with excellent beer menu. The food was also great and the chips were a big hit with the teens as they were home cut and fresh.

Nice selection of Japanese beers in a really cool setting. The staff was super friendly, spoke English and had really good knowledge of the beer. Even though we didn't try their food, other than mixed nuts, it smelled really good. We liked it so much...we came back a couple days later. Thanks for the hospitality guys!More

To qualify the title, I would call a place where you can enjoy a beer with some supporting food (I’d needed) a beer heaven when there is sufficient variety and continuity to make it an “evening “. This is certainly true of this place. The...staff are very inconspicuous but attentive. There is a variety of craft beers (some local) and some are sold out (in my eyes a good sign - despite being sad, if that makes sense). There is a multitude of small and large dishes for all tastes to accompany the beer. What else is there to ask for? - Ah, the clientele! They all seem to be beer lovers without being loud or roust. Excellent placeMore

We found this bar by chance after dinner and I'm not one to pass up trying craft beer. Unfortunately a lot of their beer menu was sold out but I did try a nice IPA. There was a reasonable crowd and most we're trying the...3 glass sample option, which I hadn't noticed. I was happy with what I tried and I'm pleased we found the placeMore

A great selection of Japanese craft beers mainly from Ichijoji Brewery in Kyoto. Lovely selection of food to nibble on and a fantastic vocal jazz playlist to asked to the atmosphere.

This bar is surfing along on the wave of craft beer pubs. It speaks for them that they have a menu in English and some staff can speak a little. The choice in different breweries when I was in was 2! From these they had...4/5 beers each, which’s a bit disappointing. Also the “happy hour” was only during weekdays, something they forgot to mention on the menu. All in all a good bar, but needs some more variation to be excellent.More

Definitely one of the better bars I went to in Kyoto, the place had about 10 taps of Japanese craft with most from the Ichijoji brewery. Nice ambiance and the food looked good (although I never tried any). Quite close to the centre of Kyoto...as well, I imagine I'll return if the place is still going when I next visit Kyoto.More
