Nice selection of Japanese beers in a really cool setting. The staff was super friendly, spoke English and had really good knowledge of the beer. To qualify the title, I would call a place where you can enjoy a beer with some supporting food (I’d needed) a beer heaven when there is sufficient variety and continuity to make it an “evening “. This is certainly true of this place. The...staff are very inconspicuous but attentive. There is a variety of craft beers (some local) and some are sold out (in my eyes a good sign - despite being sad, if that makes sense). There is a multitude of small and large dishes for all tastes to accompany the beer. What else is there to ask for? - Ah, the clientele! They all seem to be beer lovers without being loud or roust. We found this bar by chance after dinner and I'm not one to pass up trying craft beer. Unfortunately a lot of their beer menu was sold out but I did try a nice IPA. A great selection of Japanese craft beers mainly from Ichijoji Brewery in Kyoto. Lovely selection of food to nibble on and a fantastic vocal jazz playlist to asked to the atmosphere.

This bar is surfing along on the wave of craft beer pubs. It speaks for them that they have a menu in English and some staff can speak a little. The choice in different breweries when I was in was 2! From these they had...4/5 beers each, which’s a bit disappointing. Also the “happy hour” was only during weekdays, something they forgot to mention on the menu. All in all a good bar, but needs some more variation to be excellent.More

Definitely one of the better bars I went to in Kyoto, the place had about 10 taps of Japanese craft with most from the Ichijoji brewery. Nice ambiance and the food looked good (although I never tried any). Quite close to the centre of Kyoto...as well, I imagine I'll return if the place is still going when I next visit Kyoto.More
