A must visit restaurant when coming to Sapporo. The Ghengis Khan lamb set seemed like an odd beer pairing, but was good. The sausages - a more traditional brewery menu item - were disappointing, as were the grilled vegis. Fortunately, our Classic Sapporo beers were...delicious. We subtracted two stars for the disappointing food and service. Our service needed some work. Young disinterested waitstaff in such a nice restaurant needlessly hurts a brand’s reputation.More

Lamb was super, the restaurant has a ‘grill’ dedicated section. Yebisu black was quite perfect. We enjoyed the dinner.

Visited and had dinner with family. Pros: 1) The museum was educational and well organised. There was even a beer tasting option. 2) The outdoor park was well-manicured, clean, organised because there were several beer gardens and you will not get lost with all the...signages. 3) Service was excellent - attentive and polite. 4) Several options in the menu for you to choose from. 5) Picturesque during night time. Cons: 1) Booking was quite troublesome because it was always full. Luckily, we managed to spot a dinner table for a family of 8. 2) Must improve the exhaust - we left smelling like BBQ. 3) Was quite on the expensive side - but with all the Genghis Khan meat you can eat, it will still worth it. For beer lovers, Sapporo beer is a must! 4) Just be prepared to queue up for taxi on the way home. This comes as highly recommended.More

The option to order directly on the iPad is super convenient! We got the cheapest buffet option because we didn’t want to include seafood and beer. Meat options are good but sushi was terrible. Sides (like salad, fries, ramen, etc) were good. Dessert was tiny...and we had to order several dishes per person since it came out as one bite each time! Ha.More

There was only 3 other visitor there when we went. Everything original is gone and left with a commercial building selling tickets to look at videos and photos of what it used to be.

We had been recommended this was THE place to visit while in Sapporo. The All you can eat menus with optional all you can drink menu too. We made a reservation through our hotel reception, and arrived as directed to the beer museum reception at...the allotted time. We are then given a voucher and told to go next door where the actual restaurant is. We were greeted and taken to our table, where we were given plastic bags to put our coats in, I was also given a second bag for my small rucksack, seemed a bit odd but we went along with it. We selected which level of all you can eat (just lamb or mixed meats etc) plus all you can drink. The price was a bit steep but the place is highly recommended. Our first selection of meat arrived (you order extra dishes/beer via an ipad) and were were instructed on how to cook using the hot plate. Beef was OK but very fatty frozen Lamb very tasty but not great cuts of meat. Fresh lamb - not as tasty as the frozen and fattier. Chicken was our favourite The beer was OK but not as good as Sapporo beer from a can. The hall was very bustling, lots of tables with families and large groups, I would say its more a group venue rather than for couples, we didn't really find the atmosphere was for us. We left with full bellys but not feeling the effects of the number of beers consumed. It was the next morning before we realised why the plastic bags were provided, our jumpers, tee shirts, jeans even our boots absolutely reeked of cooking smoke. I physically retched when I smelt my T shirt. Everything we wore that night had to be double plastic bagged so as not to contaminate the rest of our suitcase. Food distinctly average, Value for money poor, atmosphere disappointing. Stench from cooking definitely not worth it. There are lots of great places to eat amazing food in Sapporo, go and try something that's not an over priced tourist trap.More

This Genhis Khan restaurant was soooo amazing. Meats were tender, sauce were so good, and it was all you eat and drink too! So worth it to eat here, all beers were free flow, nice, definitely will eat here again if I go there again

This Genghis Khan restaurant is considered the “must try” of Sapporo. We enjoyed the barbecue lamb(mutton), beef and pork. But I would pass on the smoke. The hall, despite being a triple vaulted ceiling; just wasn’t ventilated enough. It was the equivalent of smoking a...pack of cigarettes for sure! The hall was historical and beautiful with the super-sized beer cauldron. Being a non-smoker, I didn't appreciate that experience. All our clothes came out smelly and smokey. We needed a good loooong shower straight after that. The food was a self-cooking experience with very little variety of vegetables, only cabbage and one thin slice of pumpkin each. I considered that vegetables are expensive in Japan particularly in the wintertime. But the price wasn’t at all considered cheap at 3100yen all u can eat in 100 minutes or 4100yen all u can eat with unlimited beer on tap. If you are a happy beer drinker, this was a good deal I guess. Despite all that smoke, it was a memorable experience. Try it just once.More
