Right next to the Pagoda is the FNUTS. Write ups can be found in the Rough Guide - other guide books are available. The place was busy with locals always a good sign. We went upstairs and for a £5 each including beer we filled our boots with all sorts of noodles including the long one that I can't pronounce.... More

The restaurant was packed but our group of 12 were given a table very quickly. Came across this this restaurant while waiting to see the pagoda fountain show. The food was excellent, very tasty and lots on the menu. The menu had pictures, this helped as we were not able to read Chinese. Service was fast and efficient. We enjoyed... More

Came across this extremely busy restaurant whilst waiting for the pagoda fountain show. It was jam packed and we were given a number to wait outside- we were number 5 and seated within 5 minutes. Very extensive menu and waitress made an effort to speak English to us, which we greatly appreciated. When food arrived it was 2 large dishes... More

Overall the noodles were quite disappointing at the Big Goose Pagoda location. The cold donkey meat was quite good, however, somewhat resembling a smooth country pate. We had far better biang biang noodles in the Muslim Quarter at a little store front where the noodles were cooked on the street. Generally our experiences have been quite good when we've gone... We were there around 4pm and the place was rather empty. It was rather warm and stuffy, perhaps they turned off the air conditioning because there weren't any customers. We ordered our food and waited for about half an hour.

This restaurant is not only a dirty and disorders but also a noisy and disrespectful attention place. Toilets are just next the kitchen and service people hardly speak any other different language than Chinese.

Our partner took us here for lunch and we had maybe 5-6 different dishes, including crispy chicken, spicy cucumbers and biang biang me - local famous noodles, all was tasty and not very expensive!

I've visited First Noodle a few time during my two years in Xi'an. There was one of the restaurants close to where I worked. Overall, as a foreigner... make sure that you point to the correct picture. The staff doesn't always speak English, and if they do it is very broken. The food is good though. I can recommend going... We tried the one near the great goose pagoda and we were not disappointed! Menu in English with pictures for every dish helps a lot when you can't speak Chinese, plus one of the waiters could speak some English. Portions are massive indeed and we could not finish the four dishes we ordered between the two of us, but food... More

The place was crowded but we didn't have to wait a lot for a place in a shared table. Eating the 3-metters noodle is such an experience.
