Reservations Required and not sure how easy it is to visit without a group. The food is so good and such a fun way to have an authentic Russian food experience. Yummy and Fun. The singing, costumes and dancing in the Russian lodge setting was such a great experience. We had a 5 course meal including desert. Not sure if... More

My wife and I ate lunch at this cute Russian restaurant recently while touring St. Petersburg recently, and it was very nice. We enjoyed a nice salad, wine, Borsch, stuffed cabbage, desert and even entertainment from several singer/performers. The bldg. will remind you of a swiss chalet and is nicely decorated. Overall this was a very pleasant place to enjoy... More

If the Russian food is good enough for the President of the Country to spend his birthday here, it follows that it must be pretty good. And it is! Podvorye is a convenient stop between the Pavlovsk Palace and Tsarskoye Selo (or Tsar's village). It's in a large log building that looks a little touristy, but it provides excellent Russian... Podvorye is probably most famous Russian restaurant in St. Petersburg. It is well known during more tun 20 years. The restaurant looks like large traditional Russian wooden house. Plenty of places also in the inner yard during summertime. You will always find freshest food cooked in accordance with traditional recipes and do not fogey about their homemade vodka with more... I came with a tour group and of course tour groups had taken over the entire premises. The food was lovely, good traditional Russian menu, but I felt it was being knocked down my throat as waiters suddenly erupted into song with balalaikas and accordions going at full throttle and some half crazed individuals leaping about to take pictures of... During our last visit to St. Petersburg a few years ago we ate three meals off the ship - each one of them were awful. Just awful. Podvorye is actually pretty good. Plus it's a great facility, both inside and outside spaces. The pickled vegetables were very interesting. The potato pancakes were outstanding. The chicken Kiev was also a hit.... More

Eleven of us dined here for lunch. Huge restaurant that could accommodate hundreds of patrons. We very much had a set menu of very typical Russian food. The food was okay. The wine was pretty ordinary and best left alone, which make the cheap vodka a better workable option. Lots of dancing, singing and entertainment. Having been once would not... More

If you are on a tour, or traveling with a private guide, you are likely to have Padvorye on your itinerary for a meal. You might be tempted to despair... oh, no, this is clearly a tourist trap! Tour busses and vans abound! Relax... you are about to enjoy a delicious sampling of Russian cuisine. The Borsch, Wild Mushroom Soup,... More

First of all, you must be aware that this particular place is so popular, that you would often see a sign: We currently don’t have any seating available. Literally, tour buses bring hungry tourists to this place. However, if that is the case, do not despair. They also have lovely terrace seating at the front of the house in the... More

Excellent food with red & white eines and vodka in sufficient quantity. Good dancing and music : our friends joined in some songs.
