Walking in, or I should say down, in to the restaurant one is confronted by simplistic decor that seems to take you back to an era long forgotten. They have the sweetest waitresses whose attire befits the decor and they speak good english which to...those of us who rely on google translate is more than welcome. The music also seems to be from that long forgotten era and sits rather well on the ear. I am given the feeling of sitting at my grandmother's table and looking at the pictures and collectibles that she would have on the walls. I tried the house red that originates from Georgia. A full bodied red that has notes of spice and sits rather well on the palate. The Borscht and the forest mushroom soup were, for the lack of a better word, divine! Full of flavour and with home made bread to accompany the Borscht. The Chicken Kiev, melted butter oozes out of the center of a lightly crumb fried chicken (done to perfection and my compliments to the chef). The sauce was an excellent accompaniment to the chicken and the potatoes came with caramelized onions took the meal to another level. Would I recommend this place? There can only be one answer... Hell Yes!!! And I will be back again the next time and the next time and need i say it again...the next time!More
