If you want fine dining or great service or a nice steak then there are plenty of other places to eat in St petersburg because you won't get them here . But ... if your passing and want something quick cheap and ok then you...can't go wrong here . Its just around the corner from the hotel I was staying in and I liked the fact it was full of locals . You walk along pointing at various dishes then pay at the end of the line . I had a soup , salad and a plate of chicken and pasta with a drink for less than £4 . Its clean and also open 24hours a day . For the price you can't beat it . I ate there three times while I was working there for a couple of weeksMore

Best Stolovaya in Sankt Petersburg from were I have eaten. If you want fast, cheap and Russian traditional food but still somehow a restaurant standard than this is the place to go. Most of the time quite full. The place is more comfortable than most...of its similar counterparts. It has also access to wi-fi and charging sockets. If I think of russian cuisine first place thatr pops in my mind.More

Stolovaya (which means “cafeteria” or “canteen” in Russian). You can find here food like beetroot borscht, dumplings stuffed with potatoes and mushrooms, chicken meatballs, beef and gravy over kasha, pork or chicken in egg , deserts and others ...They have a beer as well ....Prices are really good . Lunch or dinner for 2 (3 course) about 750 Rub / about 8-9 £ . Definitely will come back .More

A very russian tradition with many locals eating in them and half the price of most eating places. Not restaurant standard but good homely meals.

If you are near the place in lunch hour you can see hungry locals in a help yourself que to grab something from a big range of russian regular home-tasting menu. The food is fresh, tasty and the price is rediculous - $3 for all...you see in the photo. Bon appétit! ;)More

You can find several dishes for every course, all very tasty and incredible cheap. The personnel is nice and they know a little English. There is also an English description of the dishes.

It is a net of cafeterias all around the city. I have visited two of them on Nevsky avenue. But there were many hungry people who were patiently waiting in the queue. I joined them and didn't regret. Everything was fresh and very delicious.

Well, we came here, since our hotel was in a good vicinity and we were starving hungry. Therefore, we entered the first place we could found which was opened at 8 a.m. To tell the truth, it is not a restaurant or a café, but...it is a canteen. In addition, the prices are low, the food is edible and some dished tasty, don’t take coffee here, though, since it is awful. In a whole, it is a place to grab a bite to eat, when you don’t have much choice or money.More
