A chain of Asian restaurants for every day. Concept is built around two dishes: steamed bao buns made from wheat dough with fillings and Japanese mochi cakes made from rice flour. Delicious asian cousin in the middle of St.Petersburg

Spent 2 evenings in Bao Mochi during January holidays. Food, atmosphere and staff were excellent! Baby friendly (gave pencils, albums rtc.). Tasted rolls and “asian burgers” - very nice, as well as wine. 100% that we will come again during the next travel.

Excellent food and service!

We ordered the big ramen and the pork bao with peanuts the chicken bao and everything was delicious! For desert we took two mochi - the caramel and the raspberry and both were tasty. The service is very Japanese like even though the waiters are Russian. Amazing place!

Difficult to digest

This is more fast food than restaurants the room was open on kitchen and smelling fried food. All furniture looks cheap … Fortunately the service was good and all waiters were nice and helpful. Food was less than average and choice not so much . The price was real not in relation with the quality or neither quantity served . Their speciality of Mochi was not even at expected level 🙁 First and last time that we will be there , we had the feeling that Tripadvisor had fooled us with not real appreciation from customer….

What an excellent experience, the decor and ambience have clearly been designed to match each other, along with the food and service, to give a real unique calming feeling, like in some kind of furutist bio dome. The Bao itself is stunning, delicate fluffy and with a range of delicious fillings, all capped off with an attentive, friendly and warm service from the staff.

Excellent interesting food with perfect service

First night in town, we wanted something interesting and not too heavy. And we were very happy here. Chilled interesting decor, trip-hop/ambient music, excellent yet fast service, best Bao I've had, a delicate salad, good ribs, and the mochi were excellent. Big recommend for the pear and cream cheese one. Great value too, and their online booking works.

Really lovely cafe, easy to find about 5 minutes off Nevsky Prospekt. Appropriately sized menu (I hate when it goes on for pages and pages) with plenty to choose from. Inexpensive for what you get and in a lovely setting. I had three Bao to try, but I'd recommend 2 unless you're starving because they were big! I had the chicken and lotus root which was delicious, the pork and peanut which was a revelation and the cod and aubergine. The toppings were shredded veg (and apple in the case of the pork!) which gave a lovely fresh crunch to the whole sandwich. My partner had the "fish and chips" which was also tasty. Didn't get a chance to try the delicious looking desserts (see: three Bao ordered for dinner) but next time I'd save space for one!

Authentic Asian and Fusion Food with Great Service

We were craving for good Asian food and found this on tripadvisor. We were pleasantly surprised with its authentic Asian food (like its Vietnamese style spring rolls with shrimp, beef curry rice and tom yam soup) and its fusion dishes (cod fish with black rice - an absolutely delicious dish with a fantastic taste profile). Food is affordable and the staff were also super friendly and patient. We visited twice in our 2 days in St. Petersburg despite this being a distance away from our accommodation. It is that good. Would definitely recommend this place.

The food was ok,the place is nice and comforting. However, they tried to scam us by intentionally giving us the wrong change. They didn’t even excuse their action or explain the situation.
