Caviar tasting and champagne (or vodka) - a fun, elegant experience. This is a great way to gain an appreciation of the various types and tastes of caviar. A must do when in Russia!

Walked past it while exploring the area and decided to try the caviar and vodka. Not really a place for a dining experience - it’s basically a bar with a selling point for their products. But it can be a very nice break from the cold outside. The food was very well prepared and presented and it went down perfectly with vodka. I had the sturgeon fillet with caviar.

Very nice experience if you want to try some caviar and vodka. The staff are very nice and they also give you some infornation on what you are trying.

We were initially concerned about going in as there was no one else in the restaurant but really glad we did.

Site not recommended. They sell expired caviar.
I bought at the end of July 2019 three cans of caviar for a total of 15,330 rubles. They put them in a container with ice to keep it refrigerated during my flight home.
When I opened the cans, I find the surprise: Two of cans were expired date and the other had not expiration date. The caviar was pasty, tasteless and went straight to the trash.
It is difficult to claim for it 2,000 km away from St. Petersburg.
I have put a picture of the bill (2019.07.29) and other one with can expiring date (2018.12.14).
A store that looks serious and was a scam.

1) The assortment of Sturgeon caviar is so huge in our Caviar Russia store. In order to choose your preferable caviar we offer our guests caviar degustations, with those we have in your store. Thus, you can pick the best caviar to your liking.
2) For transportation of black caviar we offer special thermo bags including ice blocks, which provide proper temperature storage for maximum 1 day without any refrigerating.
3) The date, which is marked on the can (from your photo) -14/12/2018 is the date of production. The expired period is 12 months. It’s marked on the counter label. It means the expiring date of this specific can is 14/12/2019.
We hope to see you again in Caviar Russia store and bar and build your trust again.
We invite you for welcome vodka shot with spoon of Sturgeon caviar during your next visit to Saint-Petersburg!

We arrived mid afternoon. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. The caviar choices were immense. Lots of vodka too. There are several tasting flights of caviar to chose from. Then you can buy what you liked! We thought the prices were more than reasonable.

We wanted to understand and taste the different types of caviar: this is precisely the objective Caviar Russia !
We were advised to go there to have a real caviar experience and we got it 🙏🙏🙏
It looks like a shop from the outside, but there is a bar, where you can sit and have dinner ...
We had the tasting set, which goes from around 3000 rb, 10g of 4 different caviar with great explanations from the lady at the bar - she went through the origin and method of extraction of each kind, and advised also on the vodka/ wine to drink with it...
It was delicious and super informative - and I also recommend the baked potatoes with caviar which are... AMAZING.
Don’t miss it while you are in St Petersburg !

We tried the tasting menus to experience various kinds of caviar. The price is there but the experience is worth it. We got a very good introduction and a great selection of caviars to taste, together with an extensive choice of vodkas - you can select champagne too but we got that back in France so we did the full Russian experiment with Vodka. Great place and great service too from Olesia and Anna ! Thanks !

Not surprisingly Russians don't sit around eating caviar in fancy caviar bars. They considered it touristy or passe but we still loved it. The bar was dark and elegant. The waiter explained the various types of caviar and each was paired with a different vodka. My husband and I were there around 10p and it was more than enough for a late night dinner.

Aside from mink, vodka and matryoshkas; for me nothing is more quintessentially Russian than caviar. The store front boldly emblazoned with the decal of a gigantic sturgeon in the winning colours of the Zenit football club somehow caught my attention while walking along Nevsky Ave.
It’s a very smart-looking shop with a central open bar. Not only do they sell caviar, they also serve it. It’s a great way to sample various types and learn how to tell the difference from the very knowledgeable team there. (I learnt that most caviar produced today is from farmed sources. Harvesting wild sturgeon is almost non-existent).
Seldom does one get the chance to sample various types and grades of caviar side by side. When this is done the subtleties of each type becomes more obvious. Nuances like the texture (pop vs soft), taste (degree of saltiness), color (light grey to jet black), flavour (mineral vs umami) are explained and encountered. Coupled with a team who is very customer-centric especially Katrina the manager, it was definitely a worthwhile experience. This comes with a 9/10 recommendation

We were attracted by the beautiful acquarium in the window filled with baby sturgeon. A beautiful bar for tasting or ‘gourmandise’ and/or the opportunity to simply purchase and take-away! If you eat first, your take away purchase offers an additional 10% discount & they will pack for 3/4days travel on dry ice!
We spent 3-hours sampling, both the caviar & the vodka. Such a learning curve !! Our experience was heightened by our caviar professor Innes, a native from Mormusk; not only her exceptional English, but her knowledge and passion of all things from the sea.

Very modern bar with very friendly service with good English. A wide variety of dishes with several different types of caviar (from Russian to Uruguayan!) available. Highly recommended if you are uncertain which type of caviar you like most or want to get an overview.

We came here on our last night in St. Petersburg. Anna -who speaks English- explained us everything in the menu, and helped us a lot to choose our order. We had a tasting set of four different types of caviar. We chose Хлебник and Полугар to drink. It was wonderful.
At the end we tried a dessert with baked apple and caviar. I can only describe it as interesting.
We thank Anna for her helpful, welcoming and smiley face. Recommended.
