The Honey cake was good. The service was great. But don't forget to ask for your bill, otherwise they will let you sit and enjoy your table for a long time.

Great atmosphere. Seated upstairs in an antique library setting. Good food. Reasonable pricing. Language was a bit of a barrier. A bit dark to read the menu. I had veal, my wife had strogonoff. Both well prepared and delicious.

Visited this restaurant for lunch during our first day of our visit to Russia. We followed recommendations and we were excited about what this place has to offer. The building is very nicely furnished and decorated. It is blindly obvious they went the extra mile to replicate every details of the pre-revolutionary tsarist era. There is a library room where... We were here with two friends on our first night in Moscow and had a great experience. Building was nicely decorated, old Russian aristocratic style. We managed to get a reservation on the same day through our hotel concierge but they seemed to be really busy. Our server promptly gave us menus, which were in English. I had the potato... More

Good atmospheric historical restaurant with good food and excellent service. Went for lunch and had probably the best Stroganoff I have ever tasted. Given its fame it is obviously not cheap but well worth it for a visit.

Ok I'm probably being harsh because I didn't really get the feel of this place. I didn't like the costumes and dark decor although I see what they are trying to achieve. The food was ok but not amazing and quite expensive. I've ticked the tourist biz now and would recommend a visit but there are so many better options... More

It's a very historic building. If you like books and history, you definitely have to come here. The service is great and can separate your food to put different plates for sharing. Their salad and fish soup are my favorite dishes. By the way, even the uniform of the waiters has style! Definitely a romantic restaurant to go.

I went to Cafe Pushkin after reading about it in tour books and on the recommendation of the hotel. While they have traditional Russian cuisine, they also have some French inspired dishes also. It was a beautiful restaurant and was very crowded on the Saturday night I booked. I was with my sister and we decided to try the Chateaubriand.... More

Really classy hotel. Special evening for us as was wife's birthday. Extensive menu featuring some great Russian dishes. Definitely fine dining with fairly reasonable prices for such an established restaurant. Beware the waiters are constantly upselling. Started with the pirogy pies - best to get a variety and share them. Main courses of Stroganoff, Lamb Cutlets and Chicken cooked to... More

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighborhood Profile
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.
