I went to this restaurant for its historical setting and interior which were delightful. We arrived around 17:30 and there were few other guests there. I would recommend going a bit later because the ambiance increased around 19:30 when we were leaving with music and candles. I was a bit disappointed in the vegetarian options but that is always a... This is a renowned place worth visiting while there was not so many people in the restaurant last week. Meat is well cooked, waiter is helpful and wants to talk about wine, since he obviously has got some expertise. We underlined that prices in the wine list were skyrocketing at an amazing altitude, more than the previous restaurants visited in... More

Awful service. Very bad attention and experience. I don't recomend the restaurant. We expend more than 1 hour waiting for the food.

Stopped for lunch during a walking tour of Moscow. Excellent meal within a wooden hand carved room, steeped in history. Lovely.

This is a restaurant located in the old localities to the journalistic association. The rooms are beautiful, with high ceilings, oak panels, chandeliers and art. They serve a very varied and broad business lunch, at a great price. This is a great place to take your family or friends from abroad, to let them taste traditional Russian dishes in a... More

We loved this restaurant. It was oddly quiet on a Saturday night and I'm really not sure why. The food was really stunning - hearty Russian food prepared delicately and presented impeccably. The service was also great. For me, one of the big standouts was the spectacular dining hall - it really took you back in time. The ambiance was... More

An outstanding interior design and good service are considered as 2 distinguished characteristics for the place, apart from food of course. We have ordered deserts and were treated with welcome drinks as well -- the cocktails were unexpected perfect match for the summer's afternoon!

Restaurant "C.D.L." is located in a historic noble residence built in 1887. One hundred twenty-five years of history of the mansion, it had seen a lot of famous people. From Emperor Alexander III to the Secretary General of the CPSU Central Committee, President of the United States and the modern Russian oligarchs. Beautifully renovated interior. Almost move you in times... More

The recent changes in decor have converted this restaurant from traditional classic elegance to contemporary. The food was average and we experienced service gaps. A shame, as I hear from others that it used to be better. We were there on a weekend evening and most of the restaurant was empty, an indication of that things may not be going... More

Staying in Arbat

Neighborhood Profile
Arbat
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.
