Have been to this restaurant a few times before. It seems like the team had changed completely because the waiters were all new and the one who worked with us was very unsprofessional. We were waiting for starters for almost an hour, when they appeared,...we only had 5-10 until they brought us the main courses. On my reasonable note that they will go cold, the waiter said nothing and just piled it all up on the table so we could not even move. Then stood over us waiting for us to finish. After very rushed starter, we had to rush with mains as well, though they were already cold and we had to return it to the kitchen. The waiter did not even apologize. The manager did not see a problem in it at all and openly laughted at our attempt to ask for any solution. We ended up spending a big amount of money on the dinner than lasted 1,5 hours with waiting for an hour, 15 min eating and another 15 min arguing with staff trying to get at least an apology for the ruined evening. The food was average, compared to the previous experience the quality obviously dropped. But of course, when you go to the place of this level, you expect not to eat quickly and go but to enjoy the evening, what seems absolutely impossible with such attitude from the staff, who absolutely did not care. Disappointed as we were regular customers. Definitely not going to come back.More

We have eaten in this restaurant many times and always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately on this occasion we were disappointed. The food was mediocre and overpriced and the service was poor. We will not be returning.

Having booked to see the Ballet at the Bolshoi we needed a place nearby (having dressed up) and within walking distance and this place fit the bill. We booked a few weeks in advance to be sure we got the time we wanted (not necesary...for the early evening mid week time). We were greeted at the entrance and shown to the lift which took us to the dining area. We opted for some shots of Vodka as it seemed wrong not to, and although I cannot remember our exact orders (photographs included here) the service and quality of food were both very good. Reasonably priced I recommend here for a pre ballet meal as the food is good and the location is ideal.More

The waiter was so rude we almost walked out. He marched up to our table and said what do you want? No greeting or other formalities. He was very annoyed when we tried to figure out something on the menu. He yanked it out of...our hands, flipped the pages and pointed angrily at what we had been looking for. I don’t know if it’s because we were Americans or if he’s just generally rude. The food was fine but the waiter ruined the entire experience for us.yMore

It's a tourist trap near Red Square serving russian food. The place looks nice. The food is just ok - nothing special. The service is ok. Overall not bad but nothing special about it.

The reviews were very good but the place is very average at best. Salmon was dry. It should have come with vegetables but I don’t think three slices of cucumber, a slice of tomato and a lettuce leaf counts! Would not come again.

Uninteresting and bland food. Probably the worst meal so far in Moscow. There are so many better restaurants around

Went for a late lunch at 16:00, restaurant wasn't very busy at that time. Excellent service and good home cooked style Russian food. Decent value as well. Lovely room at the top of the tower and good location near the Kremlin.

After the meal, our group of 5 were convinced that the rating for this restaurant would have been alot higher if it's just based on food. We saw that alot of reviews were bad due to tipping incidents but we came here expecting to tip...them 10% as long as their service was good, we we knew they rely quite alot on tips. To the food... EVERY single item we ordered were fantastic! The mushroom "dumplings", fried buns with fillings, the pork dish, the roast chicken, duck with cabbage stuffing and even their chicken soup with noodles is better than those we have tried. If u add on to the beauty of this restaurant in a traditional setting with attentive service, this will surely deserve a 10/10. Just be prepared and expect yourself to tip about 10% and u will have a great time! Good place for some nice instagram worthy photographs as well. As Arnold Schwarzenegger said: "I'll be back."More

The restaurant was also known as the Old Tower. We stayed at the Hotel Metropol and the restaurant was across the street. A gentleman greeted us at the entrance and directed us to the elevator which led to the restaurant. What a charming and unique...place to eat, felt like we were in a fairy tale castle tower. Since this was our first meal in Russia, we ordered the typical cuisine: chicken kiev, beef stroganoff, mushroom dumplings, stewed beef and my son had to try moose meat. He raved about how delicious it was especially with the accompanying blackberry sauce, potatoes and pickled vegetables. A red wine from Georgia was perfect with our meal. Credit cards except American Express were accepted. Tips were separate which was true throughout most of Russia. Menus were printed in English. What a wonderful meal to start our trip to Moscow.More

It could be reaaly wonderful. But go there and book in advance. I would say 40 to 50 dollars per head. Some enlish skopen , so best to organize ahead. They have a nice room for groups.
