Why aren't there any stalovayas in the US? They're wonderful! And Mu-Mu is a chain with a number of locations throughout the city. We went to the one near the Tretyakov Gallery. Lines for the gallery can be pretty long, but we read that going at 11 or 12 is better, so we walked through the museum for a couple... More

Came in here for linch at the recommendation of our tour guide. It serves local Russian food that reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. Tasty, fresh and very reasonably priced.

A very nice place to eat, at good prices. Cheap, clean, a large variety of dishes. Self service but not once did I had a problem finding a table. I tried the traditional dishes and I was satisfied with my choice. It's good place if you are on a budget.

I ate here at least 5 times during my travels to Moscow. Easy to place an order as a foreign person who doesn't speak Russian (the place is similar to a canteen with the food exposed, you can just point at the meals you wish to take). This also makes it less time consuming, which is a bonus if you... More

During the period of traveling in Russia, if you could find the restaurant named Mu-Mu with quite a reasonable price compared to the others, I would recommend that you need to visit there once at least. Especially, you can enjoy a diverse menu of breakfast from 8:00 AM.

You can have good dinner in this cafe if you are a budget tuorist and if you would like to taste russian meal in Moscow. There are a lot of restrants all over the city. Be carefuly, in hot dishes can be dry pork or ham, it is better to chose the one with sauces.

This chain of restaurants is self service but with a lot of people serving you from the other side of the counter. It gives you the chance to taste traditional Russian food you'll find in any typical home in Moscow. It's simple and serves very traditional homemade-type food. The only drawback is the language barrier, you simply point at whatever... More

Probably not THE best food in the whole city, but very nice to quickly grab something to eat. The food is nice and the people working there were very helpful. Of course, it's not the right place for a romantic dinner, but it's fun, cheap and tasty. I can recommend it.

First trip to Moscow, and was concerned about being able to find inexpensive food. Had read about this place online and it ended up working out well. It's cafeteria-style, so you can see what you're getting before you choose, and you can just point (no Russian needed!). Some items were better than others, but everything was at least good. Free... Staying in Khamovniki

Neighborhood Profile
Khamovniki could be considered a city of its own – here it’s possible to find some of Moscow’s most important cultural institutions such as the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Novodevichy Convent and Trubetskikh Estate, great sport locations such as Luzhniki stadium and aqua complex, and long and beautiful Luzhniki embankment. Pick your preferred form of transport to explore the area – bicycle or river cruise during the summer and taxi in winter as many of the great places are situated beyond a short walk.
