It's not just a historic place, it's iconic! If you want to try something genuinly Russian in a centre of an antient Russian city, then this is the place to go to! Wide choice of starters, main cources and deserts, in Russia you can't go...More

A warm welcome on a cold February afternoon, followed by an excellent meal--mushroom soup, pike caviar with blinis, warm salad with rabbit liver, duck leg with potato pancakes and caramelised apple, pumpkin pancakes and sour cream--in a pleasant ambience. Friendly and helpful staff. I would...More

I would definitely recommend Slavyanskiy as a sample of very good and authentic Russian cuisine. Located in the old downtown, next to Ivan Susanin monument. Don't miss a chance to test 5 in-house-made flavoured vodkas (total 125 ml). Service is fast enough and very friendly.

we likes the location - in the very center of Kostroma. The hotel where lived recommended it to us. The restaurant offers tasty drinks, which they make on their own. The service was long, but if you are on a rest, then you do not...More

The best reason for foreigners to go to eat there, is that they have a menu in English! Some servers even speak a little English. The blond local brewed beer is not bad at all (the taste of the dark one is not very strong)....More

Strangely enough this restaurant is highly ranked. Even considered among the best in town. And frankly speaking that is definitely not the case. That kind of heavy and too salty food could be consumed only if you're really hungry (which was our case). The Volga...More

We enjoy the terrace, while food was of average quality. Restaurant offers traditional Russian dishes and this is positive. About quality there is room for improvements.

We were there for a few times last year. Located in old buildings. In a centre but close neighbourhood is rather quite. Very good, rather traditional Russian cuisine. Own beers and strong alcohol. I preferred "khrenovukha". Service was also very good. After the first time...More
