The staff is very impolite. We made a reservation and after we arrived there, we asked one of the guys to tell us if another table of two would be free în the meantime, so we could move, only if possible. He raised his voice...at us and then turned his back and just ignored us. I was with my wife and he almost yelled at us. We left immediately.More
I have been visiting this place for food for many years. It has been my favourite because of the authentic hungarian food. Until mu recent visit. I have ordered the smoked pork joint (mester csulok) and received a slice of whatever really greasy meat.
On...top of it when I tried to explain the waitress that I have food allergies she reacted with an attitude. Guess I will have to find another place to eat on my next visit. And the restrooms still look very poor.More
I'm a solo traveler and was staying nearby so this was recommended. I was there at an in-between time. Not lunch rush and not dinner rush. There were maybe 4 tables of people when I arrived. I loved the building & the many options as...to where to dine. Indoors. Out on any of several patios. likely more.
When I arrived, a waitress was walking away from me. I stood in the doorway waiting to let someone know I was there. I stood for quite a while. (I do think she saw me.) A waiter wizzed by. I was able to glance the food he was carrying and get an idea of a portion I wanted, but not to get that waiter's attention. A group of 5 guys who finished eating got up and stood at the counter to pay. I could tell they were regulars. I asked one of them what he prefers there. He said Goulosh, and realizing I'd not tried that yet, knew it's what I'd get. However my waiting continued. I finally broke in and asked one of those wait-people if I could sit and eat. Yes, sit anywhere.
I sat at the table nearest the door and counter. I waited some more. After a little while, I waved to order. The waiter came over and I ordered. The waiter asked if I wanted bread with that. I asked if that was the common way to eat it and he said yes. So soon after I had my meal.
I did really enjoy my first real Hungarian Goulash. I can't say it's the best ever as I have no comparison but I did like it. The meat was clearly good quality. It was tender. The potatoes where perfect. I loved the sauce.
Upon finishing my meal, I realized this was the style of the staff -- that they let us get their attention rather than come to ask us. In ways, I like this. So when I saw a waitress I got up to ask for my bill. In the meantime, I had all the time I needed to enjoy my meal and didn't feel pushed.More

Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. Hope to see you again if you're ever back in town!
1. I arrived at 9:15. They told me that the kitchen is closed. I asked them, at what hour do they close the kitchen. The answer was, that at 9:30. I showed the waiter the watch, that it is only 9:15. She told me that.....oh, no, actually the kitchen closes at 9:00.
2. I came to this place at 9:00. I asked for one dish: karpati borzoska. They told me that they prepare the entire quantity in the morning, and it is already finished, so they can't give me that. I asked for something else.
3. I arrived at 8:30. I asked for a Karpati Borzoska, they told me that it is already finished.
4. I arrived at 7. I asked for a Karpati Borzoska. They told me that it is already finished. I asked the waiter, when are they closing the kitchen. She told me that at 10:00.
So. They lied to me at the first time about the closing hours.
They don't care about customer satisfaction at all. To prepare this dish from 0, it would take about 10 minutes. They had no desire to resolve the issue.
I am completly, totally disappointed.
This was my favorite restaurant. It is not any more.More
