Location and contact

Indigo is an Indian restaurant located in Cluj-Napoca - the heart of Transylvania. If you are a gourmand Indigo should be on your must visit list. Indian cuisine is as much about hot and spicy food as are its aromatic dishes which are completely non-spicy. If you like your food tasty but not spicy, try the Malai Tikka - cubes of chicken marinated in caju, smantana, cheese, ginger and garlic paste with salt. For those who like it mildly spicy, equivalent to a spicy European-Romanian dish, try the spinach curry with Branza Indian. This is one dish people from Cluj love the most as it is right in the middle of the spiciness scale. The few who like to sweat it out, we have the Vindaloos and Madras

The food is great, fair prices and awesome customer services. The street where the restaurant is located is very charming and the restaurant itself is very nice. Great experience.

Decent fruit not awesome since basics were not upto standard - NaN was uncooked, simple cut salad had its basics wrong, lamb had too much black pepper which killed the taste of lamb, butter chicken too sweet. The service was good.

I absolutely love and highly recommend this place for its extremely tasty and delicious Indian food! The service is quite good too, however, it can be pricy as one wants to get from as many dishes as possible! 5/5 from me!

Hello Hussain, We offer Halal food if requested a couple of days before. Warm regards
Dear Visitor, We are truly sorry for your disappointing experience at our restaurant. Your critique on the presentation of the food is appreciated, we are aware of some absences in this field, when compared to European restaurants. We would like to point out that Indian cuisine in general, not only at INDIGO, puts much more emphasis on the taste of the food, on the mixing of aromas and spices as well as on the traditional marination and cooking techniques, and it concentrates much less on the visual effects. On the contrary, European cuisine puts very high emphasis on the visual presentation, even though it is not always matched by the taste. The importance of visual aspect is a cultural difference which can be observed across many Indian restaurants worldwide. We will take your suggestions to heart and find a way to make the food more presentable for our European customers. We would like to share with you that our cooks and kitchen chef are from India, they have received traditional training in Indian cooking techniques and they all have work experience at reputed restaurants in India, Punjab area. The ginger and garlic taste which you referred to in Lamb Bhoona is as authentic as it gets, as we use raw garlic and ginger for making it in our restaurant. It takes a fine cook to know the right measure of those aromas, so the taste does not become overwhelming. Sadly, off-the-shelf ginger-garlic paste might result in much stronger taste than the naturally prepared paste because of artificial taste enhancers, and where such pastes are cheaply available, some Indian restaurants might use it. We assure you that is not the case at INDIGO. As for your surprise about the hotness of Keema Naan we would like to mention that our menu contains with every single dish a hotness grading. The grading has: NOT HOT, MILDLY HOT, MEDIUM HOT and VERY HOT. This helps the customers decide which dishes are suitable for them, Keema Naan has medium to very spice grading. We hope that you will return to our restaurant and taste some other dishes we make. Our tandoori dishes are very unique and tasty, made in traditional clay Tandoor oven. We make no compromises with our recipes, they are not adapted to local taste, except at the lower degree of chilly used in some dishes, where we offer a 'more spicy' option also. Thank you for your suggestions. Sincerely, Indigo Team
