Everytime we go to Cluj we have to stop at Makeba. They have amazing atmosphere. What we noticed also they change their interior design also it is like an art. We had some drinks which is super delicious and the amount of alcohol is perfect 😝 for me. Food I asked for chicken wings which is an explosion of flavors & my husband asked for a Cheeseburger and as usual I have to have a bite because it is so tasty & juicy. We highly recommend Makeba not only for the food but also for the friendly atmosphere they give to their costumers.

The food here... it's absolutely amazing! The kind of flavours that you encounter only a few times in a lifetime. The Venezuela specialities are absolutely delicious with a lot of aromas, the vegan food is exquisite (must try sesame Tofu!), and the staff is very friendly and professional! Also they have funny pigeons that come to your table, which personally, I find so touching and very very cute!

Good but excellent.
Nice ambiance, friendly stuff despite the fact that our waiter forgot to bring me the salad, he came late with a bottle of water, in the beginning when we seated he informed us that at 20:30 we must liberate the table and at 20:00 he told us the he needs the table at 20:10.
He was friendly and this wasn’t a problem, despite his haze.
Ok prices.

Average food with good prices. I would not recommend the chicken quesadilla with corn sauce, nor the veggie burger (a big piece of store-bought tofu with onion and ketchup) as there is nothing tasty about either of them. Opt for something else off the menu. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was lively.

We have ordered some burgers and a chicken snitzel, both were OK, but nothing to justify the score here on trip advisor. The Burger was well made, French fries seemed to be home made (not frozen ones), sauce was a basic BBQ sauce. The Snitzel (sadly I didn't pictured it) was... Sad looking. The taste was very good but looked like it was microwaved in a hurry, and thrown 2 slices of cheese over it. The beer was at room temperature (waiter apologized, and asked me if it is OK or I want to orders something else instead), but I assumed is and it was OK.
Don't understand me wrong, everything was fine, ok, normal, but my rating it's actually based on this. It's a normal pub, ok let's say but nothing to impress any kind of customer (believe me, I'm easy to impress 😂). Go, try it out, and have a good time there.
Service was very nice, polite, happy and had a good vibe.
The place, near old citadel walls it's amazing, they add a very nice vibe to this place.
*COVID measures:
- Tables were on a sufficient big distance one of each other (we have stayed on the terrace)
- Waiters had mask on, weared correctly
- Hand alcoholic gel available on the table.

We made an early trip to this bar/cafe whilst on our trip in Romania, the day after we arrived. We started with the English Breakfast which wasnt too bad to be honest. Not English sausage though and bacon was a bit streaky, and unusual tasting darkers beans which were nice however. After our English Breakfast, we had a few Irish Coffees and then hit the lagers. All of which were great and reasonably priced. We spent a good few hours here, as we got pretty merry! Staff were extremely helpful and polite.

Hello,
I am genuinely sorry that I have to address you under these circumstances, but I find it necessary to express the displeasure encountered during our last visit to your restaurant.
I understand that mistakes can happen, and a crowded restaurant might make management more challenging, but I firmly believe there is a minimum quality standard every customer deserves. I was ready to overlook the food which did not meet our expectations and the long waiting time - situations we considered the result of a moment of chaos.
However, there was an incident that greatly exceeded acceptable limits and I can't ignore it. We experienced significant confusion regarding the serving of meals. We were brought three dishes that were not meant for our table, from which we even tasted, only to be informed later by the waitress that these dishes did not belong to us. The fact that we consumed the wrong food was not just a communication problem, but a serious issue of hygiene and respect for the customer.
Moreover, a particular incident surpassed the acceptable limits and I can't overlook it. The confusion regarding serving the meals was, frankly, astonishing. We were served three dishes that we had ordered, but in a surprising twist, we were later revealed that they were intended for another table, not ours.
This was not just a communication problem, but a serious issue of hygiene and respect for the customer. When we informed the waitress that we had already started eating from the dishes, her reaction was entirely inappropriate. Even more, instead of resolving the issue in a professional manner, she chose to take the dishes from which we had eaten and serve them to the table to which they initially should have been intended.
This approach not only shows a lack of respect for us, the customers but also for your other guests, who were innocent in this situation. It's inconceivable that a self-respecting restaurant would tolerate such behavior, and I hope you will take the necessary measures to avoid the repetition of such incidents.

I go to Makeba quite often as it has always been one of the best pubs in Cluj and it never dissapoints. The menu is very diverse and all the drinks and dishes diserve to be tried. Prices are really good for a place in the city centre and they also have live music events 3 times / week. I reccomend it 100%

me and my mom had two burgers, the "makeba burger" and the "original cheese burger", we also ordered an aperol spritz, a mint lemonade and two sauces, a spicy bbq and a garlic sauce.
first off thr burgers were absolutely immaculate, the meat was cooked to perfection, the other ingredients were fresh and the bun was made at the restaurant. the burger came with a side of perfectly fried fries, with paprika powder, and the sauces were as tasty as they get.
my lemonade was also banging! :)
i highly recommend to try "makeba" on your cluj visit.
p.s. props to ioana for being a really nice server and assisting us in whatever we needed.

The food and atmosphere were as good as we were promised they would be.Unfortunately the service lacked a tiny bit for us.We rushed to sit down and the table wasn’t washed and there were no tissues available at it.The food isn’t something extraordinarily, I wouldn’t recommend it to someone with high expectations. It is more of a fast food type of restaurant. A lot of drinks to choose from, and the burgers + the sauce are home made. We ordered risotto, mini burgers and Angus burgers. Everything good, the service could be A BIT better.

Tasty food and cocktails. We got great service by Mara. Went back the day after and service was a bit slower and we got the wrong drink order. Food was still very tasty but it took about an hour to get it.

I had the pleasure of dining at Makeba with friends. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The menu offered a delightful variety of dishes, each bursting with flavor. We particularly enjoyed the signature burgers and the fresh, crispy fries. They featuring a wide range of drinks, beers and cocktails. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner or a place to unwind with friends over drinks, Makeba is the perfect spot. Highly recommended! They also have live music throughout the week, so be sure to check it out!
