Ordered a Sakura set (24 pcs) a bit large for one person, but not by much if you are really famished. The sushi slices were quite thin, like they were on economy mode. Thin sashimi, seems like it was cut with a not very sharp knife. The rice seemed like regular use, on the dry and fall-apart side. Although, the fish was fresh and tasty. As an appetizer, I received a complimentary spring roll made with edamame - it was fresh and extremely tasty. The drink was Spritzzato Dolce, which was absolutely delicious!
If they invest more attention in the rice and fish, it would be perfect. All in all, great service for an evening meal and great presentation.

It was such a nice dinner with super cozy and friendly atmosphere and with a absolutely delicious Sushi. I was really amazed, about the quality of sushi. The serving and the interior design are very qualitative as well, but the sushi it self it’s an culinary experience.
Best regards,
From Switzerland

We visited on Friday night with a party of two and it was a pleasant experience. We were seated right away inside and presented with menus. We started with 2 soups and a Spring Rolls appetizers. They were hot, fresh and tasty.
From there we ordered the Small Mixed Set and Teriyaki Salmon. The Set feature a nice assortment of sushi and sashimi, the salmon was excellent. The service was friendly, prompt and professional. Overall: Excellent place for Japanese cuisine.

Everything is excellent from location to food to service.
Try every sushi roll that they have on the menu, you won'regret it.

If you’re looking for a decent sushi experience in a more private environment then Sakura is the answer. They have a good sushi selection, but the customer service could improve a bit considering their wanna be status. It’s true that for such an elegant restaurant they don’t have any competitors on Cluj market, but their sushi isn’t the best and they don’t have too many chances to improve their clientele. Cluj is full of sushi lovers, particularly foreigners who are used to better services abroad. My suggestion (for them) would be to pay more attention to details and make sure you offer fresh sushi, perhaps a dress code for the employees (we were served by a waitress in jeans...) and some manners. Use your potential wisely, don’t waste it.
As for you traveler who’re looking for a different sushi experience, you could give them a try. But be prepared to spend perhaps double the price you’d pay in the same city for sushi in another restaurant.

As we were staying at the Platinia Hotel, and wanted to take a friend out for dinner, it was easy for us to just come here. The shopping centre the hotel and other restaurants are a part of is in a central location in this area of Cluj, quite close to one of the Universities, on a main road and also accessible by public transport. We indulged in a variety of Japanese and Asian dishes, entrees to share, and others selected by each person, and all washed down with a very good red wine. Lots of mineral water as well, no one went without.
We started with shared tempura veggies, and endame, and then moved on to our own meals of curries, fish, rice dishes, Pad Thai. We each enjoyed our meal, the service and the ambiance, as well as the company of course.

They nailed the rice! After tasting all the sushi Cluj has to offer I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that Sakura’s is by far THE BEST in town (and I say this after eating sushi at the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo). The staff is friendly and considerate. The prices are fair considering the quality of the products.

I recommend it is a tastefully designed restaurant, quality prepared meals, I recommend drinks and a set of sushi, I will come back to this place and come back with a final note. I didn't like that meals are too close to each other,

We went here knowing the price range, so I will not comment a lot on this subject, it is expensive, as it is advertised as fine dining (lol).
Bringing dirty glasses to the table when we were the only two people in the restaurant is offensive, as it means you are not overcrowded and can spare one minute to clean glasses before bringing them to the table.
We had ramen and rainbow sushi. The ramen was not hot as it should be served, but warm, lacked a lot of flavor (felt like a soup), but the egg was well marinated and noodles were ok. The meat was the most dissapointing, it was boiled pork meat, not slowly cooked, so it was HARD and got stuck in our teeth.
Sushi was a total disaster, I heard all the sushi masters of the past turning in their graves as I tried to PEEL off the sushi from the plate and all the components started lifting up between the chopsticks. Wasabi was a sort of wasabi ball that was hard to spread on the sushi, pickled ginger was dry and not chopped so we kinda had to use our hands to add it to the sushi. I see it as an insult to japanese cuisine.
Service was not fine dining quality, we were asked at the end if we enjoyed the ramen, dude was on the phone most of the time, sushi chef was on the tablet or whatever.
Beer is 4 times more expensive - as a heads up.
I am not looking at money when I am going out, but I expect quality if not high quality when the prices are $$$$. Now I just have to go to Nobori to wash the sin away.

I went here for dinner, with some friends. We tried out some of the dishes. In short, we enjoyed most of the food and the service was good, but compared to other Japanese restaurants in Cluj, the prices were a bit too high based on the quality and food served.
We tried some of the soups: the Udon Soup with Salmon was amazingly delicious, the salmon was cooked just right and the flavor of the soup was spot on. The Chicken Soup with Eggs was nothing impressive, but it was good.
As a main course, we tried the Beef Yakisoba. The beef was super tender, the vegetables were also cooked nicely. What we found wrong with the dish was that it was way too salty and the addition of cherry tomatoes didn't go well with the overall dish.
For sushi, we tried a few: Rainbow Rolls, Flamed Salmon, Sake Nigiri, California Roll with Sesame. These were quite tasty, but overall too expensive.
For dessert, we enjoyed some Banana Maki with Nutella. These were really delicious and tasty and not too sweet.
Overall, it was a nice experience, the staff was friendly and served everything with care. The presentation was also spot-on, everything looked nice and beautiful. But i remain with the statement that the food is a tad too expensive.
Important note: Be sure to check their menu beforehand, they have so many things in it, that it could get a bit overwhelming to decide on the spot on something.

The best asian restaurant in Cluj! My little boy fell in love with sushi in this restaurant. And kids really know and appreciate good food. The staff was so kind to always make his favourite sushi. My husbad appreciates the udon soup, my favourite is the rice pasta, so this is a place where all our family can have their favourite dishes. I must say that the staff is very friendly and children oriented and this makes the restaurant family friendly place.
I must say that the prices are a bit above the other sushi restaurants in Cluj, but you can taste the quality of ingredients and the experience of the chef is easy to be sensed.
Overall, our favourite family restaurant in Cluj-Napoca. And we have seen almost all of them.

Had Pilipino panzet, sashimi and teriyaki beef. The panzet was only okay but everything else, including the service, was excellent. The deep fried ice cream for dessert was delicious as well, unexpectedly so.
Very good addition to the Cluj Asian restaurant scene.
Pricy but worth a trip when you want something different.
