Maya is still one of my favorites here in Cebu. This is part of my "must eat" list in Cebu. Since trying this back in 2010, we have been coming back here regularly whether to eat or drink. We love their crispy pork belly. The skin is cooked well that it gives it a "chicharon" feel. We also like their... More

a little "style over substance" for me, lovely decor and friendly staff but the food took an age to arrive and was not as impressive as the concept itself. My burrito was a large overly soggy affair and the nachos were dry and ill proportioned for me. it is a cool place though, the mojitos need a bit of work,... More

Everything about this place is great. The ambiance is fantastic; it feels like a Mexican apothecary/dungeon. We ordered the Nachos, which were delicious and loaded with toppings. The chips were crisp, and didn't feel like the ready-made ones available at the grocery. Their signature Margarita was also really nice and tart, although I would have liked it to be stronger.... Being from California and the heart of some of the finest "authentic" Mexican food in the world, I found the dishes here below average. The only safe items were the "almost meatless" Tacos. For people that do not know Mexican food this place can be ok. For those that do know it is not ok at all. Service was excellent... More

The best I can say for this restaurant is "nice try" but not quite there. This is a beautiful restaurant with great ambience and outstanding service, but the Mexican food is just not quite right. The chicken fajitas were not cooked right, at least for my Tex Mex preferences. The fajitas were roasted and then maybe (or maybe not) grilled.... More

This place has great ambience, attentive friendly staff and delicious food. The menu had your classic Mexican meals (fajitas, burritos) but seemed somewhat limited. There were no vegetarian options and the dishes don't come with any sides. I would expect as standard a side of salad or rice instead of this costing extra. It is pricey but the food tastes... More

Excellent service.. Special thanks to Sir Crisdon for taking care of our table that night.. 2 for 1 margaritas and tortilla with cheese sauce were a hit! Professional dancers teach you how to dance the salsa all night.. Definitely a must do in Cebu!

Description
Maya was created to be a casual restaurant and tequila lounge: laid back and subtle, with efficient service and reasonably priced. The sophisticated yet casual allure of Maya seamlessly blends old world charm with modern elegance. Succulent aromas from the kitchen mix tradition and ingenuity while setting the stage for your dining pleasure. Maya also has the largest selection of 100% pure agave tequilas in the country, which in addition to our premium house pours are sure to charm.Maya is committed to the timeless tradition of Mexican food – utilizing countless ingredients and dishes, and perhaps most importantly, the rich family tradition of preparation, which is done by hand using the freshest local ingredients that are regionally available. By embracing both Mexican tradition and local sensibility, we offer a creatively classic cuisine that unites well-known Mexican street food from the stalls of Mexico City and family dishes from the coast of the Mayan Riviera and the inventiveness of the Hispanic American communities of California and the American Southwest.
