typical looking NE US diner with an extensive menu with items ranging from Greek, Italian, Latin, and American. Open 21 hours a day serving all three meals anytime. Full bar. Two huge dessert cases. Very slow during our dinner hour visit. Maybe three other tables....Picture your stereotypical diner interior and you would be right on. Not in a bad way by any means. Very clean and furnishings in great condition. Small language difficulties with our waiter as his accent was strong to us. But it was not a major impediment. After meandering through the multi-page menu, we both chose our meals. DW chose to start with a cp of soup, the type of which she had never tried before, Avgelemono (Greek Lemon Chicken Soup). With an entrée choice of her fave, Spaghetti Bolognese. I went full on diner dinner, fresh Garden Salad with ranch and Meatloaf dinner with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. The salad was as expected except for the excessive amount of Broccoli. The soup was a big winner, rich with a subtle lemon flavor. Clearly made with love and much time to simmer and meld. Very tasty. Our entrees were served and OMG the size of the portions was large in the extreme. A bowl of pasta like a hubcap full of delicious looking beef and sauce. Unfortunately, it was quite bland, displaying no real Italian flavor. Just beef and tomato. The plate of meatloaf I received had three large slices of brown loaf with thin brown gravy. Alongside a dish of mashed potatoes under more thin gravy. The slices of meat looked to have been placed on a flat top in an attempt to bring them up to eating temperature-as evidenced by the caramelization along the edges. The meat was barely above warm, the gravy had a nice flavor, and was not overly salty like some. Same temp issue with the potatoes. Meal was nothing special, except in size. Based on our one experience, I can’t recommend Bell Aire Diner.More

We took our aunt for a experience brunch on Monday 12.11.23 since this is her favorite diner. Our meals were warm and hearty portions. We absolutely loved the new decor. The staff was very friendly. Our waiter, Martin was professional, accommodating and respectful. He tended to...all our needs with a smile. We will definitely return and recommend this diner to all our friends. A disaster. Once, this used to be a good diner. No more; the place was shut down, and recently featured on Kitchen Nightmares. I came here late in September and found the food and service to be less than adequate. I ordered buttermilk chicken pieces...and the meal was full of oil I will not be back!More

Arriving at our hotel we decided to have dinner delivered from Bel Aire Diner. We ordered 2 chicken parmesan dinners. Portion were enormous and very good. The chicken dinner came with penne pasta, salad and bread. Next visit in this area we are definitely going...to the restaurant. Very happy with this diner and our choice of food.More

Never coming again. I used to frequent this diner. it’s under mew management now and the remodel did not help this visit. 1. flies everywhere. 2. bathroom was clogged and no soap. 3. the water tasted like metal. 4. they made us wait 20 minutes...before taking our order while they tended to other people. very specifically a latin waiter with black rimmed glasses did his best to avoid us. it wasn’t until an nice white women who just clocked in noticed we were waiting and took our order. 5. food was meh to ok. we were hungry so we ate the wings and i ate my burger but it was a frozen patty for sure. everything else was garbage. that bad meal and experience costed me $62 bucks. Their staff is racist and the food was Horrible. Just Horrible.More

We visited after seeing this neighborhood iconic diner on Jerry Seinfeld's CICGC. Great food in a bright and sunny atmosphere. The service was friendly and the servings were huge! We will be back!

The Bel Aire Diner = a mature & confident establishment worthy of a try. Irish breakfast is quite a sleeper of good/authentic quality. No shortage of delicious/satisfying offerings + personable staff (w/actual personalities) by & large, aims to please!

I didn't feel the magic here. Yes, it has a large menu - and most of our group enjoyed their meals. But I felt like the food was pretty basic, and the service uneven. Maybe it wasn't the ideal place for me - I ordered...french toast and found it hadn't soaked up enough batter (making it basically fried bread) and it was served with a sickly sweet syrup - but I'm used to actual maple syrup and many people are not. So maybe ignore me.More

As soon as you get within viewing distance you see and feel the warm glow of the neon welcoming you to a time gone by! As you walk in you see the counter seats and the booths, you're expecting a warm greeting along with a...menu that looks more like and encyclopedia---you receive both! My server asked, "Whatcha like?" As I waffled, he suggested the Greek Gyro Plate! Trust me, I am a "big guy," and I was praying to finish! The meat was tender, the salad fresh, the fries just right! Comes with extra sauce! DELISH! I am certain after several visits, this is the kind of place where the servers will respond favorably to your request for "the usual." Great food with "very healthy" portions and then attentive service mixed with entertaining conversation that even borders on sincere! GREAT PLACE--can't wait to go back my next trip to Astoria!More

This time I didn't come late night but early morning for actual breakfast time. They have parking outside and it is huge cause they are located at a little outdoor mall thing. As soon as we came in the waiter brought some muffins with butter...and jam. Nice touch. They also have an yelp discount when checking in so keep that in mind when you come here and make sure to check in. The breakfast menu is a lot smaller than the regular night time menu, I am very thankful for that cause the night time menu can be very overwhelming I must say. I got some coffe, it is not the best I ever had but it was good enough. The decor and music here are very vintage and diner like, there is not much deviation from the dinner culture. They have plenty sitting, booths and counter sitting as well. TWO EGG SANDWICHES- my choice was to have it challah bread and added cheese. best choice in life!!! amazed with the flavor and tis texture of the entire plate. amazed. this is home to me I will always come back to Belair.More
