Great spot for brunch, just make sure to get there early. The guy at the door does a great job hyping people up and that feeling continues into the restaurant. It's a great BYOB place to go with a group.

Worth the wait! This local favorite brunch institution is a treat. James Avitar, your host and entertainment while waiting on the line (no reservations so get there early or be prepared to wait) is warm, engaging, clever and a treat himself. The environment is crowded with young hungry people and a live DJ spins tunes from the corner while a... More

We went on a Sunday and the lines were long. We were told 35 minutes and actually were in line for just over and hour and this was worth the wait. We went based on a recommendation from a free for the Guacamole onion rings. They were unique and truly divine. We also had chicken and waffles and banana bread... More

This place is special! Gourmet homestyle deliciousness! James keeps you entertained while you're waiting for a table, and it's worth the wait. We were in line with several people who were regulars. Always a good sign when you see the locals there. Everything we had was rich and delicious. Comfort food with a splash of class!

Heard great things about this place, from the guy that cracks jokes while you are waiting to get in to the amazing food and interior design. We went on a Tuesday around 12pm and there was not a line so we were seated immediately. Peculiar and interesting sitting inside, maybe a little to much tables packed. When it is full... More

Arrived at the place around 11a.m. on a saturday. There was a short line (at first) at least 30 mins wait. Food and service was great. Worth the wait. They accept Cash only.

This is the first time we come to this restaurant. I was surprised that it was a small place and the seating is family style. The food was amazing as well as the customer service. Only 2 waiters and couldn't believe how personable they were. The food that we order came write away. They don't serve alcoholic beverages but you... More

Was about a 45 min wait but myself and friend both agree it was worth it even though it was -6° C out. James the "line guy" made it worth it, with his jokes and adding fun to the line (you need to give him a song lyric to get in). That guy needs some recognition for sure! The staff... More

The place: I visited this place during brunch on a Saturday. First things first: be prepared to WAIT! There is a line for brunch. Perhaps I just picked a bad day, but, for parties of 3+, maybe an hour minimum. There is a gentleman keeping track of the line outside and he actually makes the wait enjoyable as he cracks... More

Most people think of Greek food when they think of Astoria Queens, but this place was right around the corner from where I had an earlier work commitment...I thought the line might be intimidating in the cold weather, but the TA reviews assured me the wait would be worth it, and also Mr. Avatar was so entertaining that the time...
