My hubby has been wanting to come here for a while, so we finally did. We arrived around 1ish and were lucky to be seated right away (having only two of us helped — no reservations are accepted and there can be waits). The dining room we were seated in is old with lots of wooden tables and chairs and you are really packed in there. In fact, we were seated right by the window and in order to get out we had to ask the table next to us to get up. No matter though — the food and the service make you feel just fine. (There is another dining room on the other side of the host/hostess stand and it looks to have the feel of an outdoor patio.)
We were advised by a friend to get seafood here and seafood indeed seems to be the thing here. He told us to be sure to get the grilled octopus so that is what we started with. Two octopus “arms” came chargrilled. We used some of the fresh lemon that was placed on the table on the octopus. They were toothsome and had good charcoal flavor. We each went for the lunch special next. I got the fried calamari with lemon potatoes. Seriously, the mound of fried calamari could have fed four people. It came with a very light tomato sauce for dipping that was way more delicious than the marinara sauce I often see with fried calamari. Hubby got the branzino and he was in love. We got some sort of phyllo dough dessert with nuts and cinnamon “on the house” and it was surprisingly tasty although hard to eat with the big spoon provided. As for beverages, they did not have iced tea so we went with Cokes, which paired beautifully with the food.
Service must be difficult considering the small spaces and quantity of tables and diners, but our servers were very pleasant and considerate, although my hubby probably could have done with another Coke had he been asked. It was really nice for the staff person who was clearing our table to thank us for coming — you don’t always get that from a busboy!
The two single-seater restrooms are right by the entrance to the open kitchen and you have to marvel at how they manage to produce all of that terrific food in such a small space.
If you are patient (in case you aren’t as lucky as were with the wait) and are OK sitting inches from your fellow diners, you want to eat here.

Fantastic great service and food!!our waiter was attentive and I think his name was Aton but what a wonderful experience! I have been going there for it I'm very long time before they brought in the new decorations and everything. I love the Decour but I definitely am more interested in the fresh delicious cuisines. Are usually call and order my octopus and sardines and so on, normally I like to over order because the food is so delicious that it is fine to pack it up and put it in my refrigerator so I can enjoy the rest of the food in my home. Probably one of the best second favorite Greek restaurant the first is in Manhattan on fifth Avenue, this place is not as fancy but the food, YUMMMM! yes super fresh and considering how fresh the fish And everything else is, It is so surprising that it is dirt cheap. Because it really is. With 100 bucks I'm already ordering tons of their dishes and appetizers so if you really want amazing food and locally support restaurant or venture to an outta this world freshness, I highly recommend everybody experiences the fantastic dishes in this place!!!

Yes, they must be in the top 5 Greek Tavernas in Astoria.
When I first rated them back in 2012 I gave them 4 stars. It took me three attempts to finally get a table for 1 there, albeit outside. The taverna is so popular that wait times can last up to 2 hours. In my case, 1st attempt 2 hours, 2nd attempt 2 hours, 3rd attempt 30 minutes.
Because I knew the food was so good I wanted to test their indoor dining protocols regarding covid. It was too crowded to get in and virtually every seat was taken. Inside, I noticed how small they were, and I now understand why they have to move to a new location. Non of the waiters wore masks. I was unable to verify vaccine checks -but -that was not why I came here.
My seat was jammed right on the pathway waiters walked to deliver food orders. A large party behind me was having well a big..fat..birthday party..so the precession of waiters and plates going back and forth, so I swung round to rear side of the table. Everyone was having a great time, but the tables may have been a little too close for comfort.
My dinner was a side order of tarama, freshly baked bread followed by a huge portion of a baby shark with lemon potatoes. I didn’t think it was possible to get so much meat on a baby shark. It was delicious and so filling I could not finish it all. After dinner, you get dessert on the house.
Wait staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I enjoyed watching three waiters dressed in white with bald heads running around trying to serve everyone, including me. They looked almost identical. One served me, but because of the other two, it got a little confusing who to get the check from at the end of my dinner.
.After my meal, I headed back to check out the interior and ambiance. Indoor dining is extremely cramped and the washrooms are almost in the kitchen, or should I say next door. Inside at the back reminds me of Bahari, but they have much better food. You also get a sense that they are great for fish dishes, and that’s true I was not disappointed.
I paid $30.. approx

This place is very festive and busy on a Friday evening. We sat outside on the sidewalk and were greeted promptly by the hostess. My wife and I shared the large peasant salad and it was very tasty and authentic. It rivals the ones we had in Greece this year. Vegetables were very fresh and the dressing was delicious. My daughter ordered the grilled squid - that was just average. She wanted the fried calamari, but it’s only an appetizer. My grilled sardines were very flavorful and tender. My wife liked the grilled baby shark (not really a shark). The service was acceptable, but limited due to how busy it was. The liter of white wine was a good deal at $27 and we could not finish it! On the whole, this place was good because it had plenty of seafood dishes, but it lost some points with the service, lack of other traditional Greek options such as moussaka, Greek beer, and other Greek dishes.

There are no reservations taken for this restaurant. We were told there would be a 1 !/2 hour wait, we were seated 2 hrs and 15 minutes later. We were given a table inside, facing the kitchen, listening o the busboys complaining, the plates being cleaned, an genera chaos of the kitchen. The salad and grilled octopus we ordered as appetizers was fine. The fish we ordered was tasty but room temperature. The lemon potatoes were cold as was the swiss chard. when w told the waiter, he brought hot potatoes (which were not very good but better than cold potatoes) and beets with garlic (which I do not care for). Overall, a very disappointing meal. we never wait so long in a restaurant but decided because of the recommendations we received it was worth waiting for. That was nt the case.

I'd read some impressive reviews of this place, but, now that I've eaten there, I don't agree with them. I know this might sound petty, but it was a HOT day, and the waiter (extremely surly) informed us they don't serve iced tea or iced coffee--in fact, they don't serve coffee of any kind. I've never been in such a restaurant like that before in the US.
I live on Long Island, where there are Greek restaurants just about everywhere, some good, some better. The food here was tasty, just not worth the 35-mile trip to get there. We would have been better off with one of our local places, like Opa Grille in Bethpage.
We ordered a Greek Salad (the "small" was tremendous), fried calamari (nice and crunchy, seemed fresh) and chicken kabobs (the sauce was excellent) served with tasteless beets. Nothing was terrible. It was just nothing special.

Due to limited indoor dining , we very recently ordered some of our favorite dishes here for takeout . They do a very good job ; everything is packaged perfectly and just as good as if dining in from the delicious olive bread , the Greek salad and on this occasion the octopus appetizer , the salmon , stuffed shrimp and grilled whiting . Sides of lemon potatoes and horte were on point , as was the complimentary dessert .

Actually, Taverna Kyclades is even better than the food we had in Greece. Their fish and seafood is unparalleled for freshness and flavor and the service is nothing short of exceptional. We have been going to Kyclades in Astoria for years and we always love our dining experience there.

The food is great. I’ve been here in the past and it is just as delicious as I remember it. Food is awesome, the place is a little crowded with waiters and waitresses passing by to get to other tables which are a little cramped but the food is yum and the servers are always polite about moving around.
Lighting is a little dark. Which gives an ambience but it’s not a first date kind of place. It’s loud and crowded so you go in and eat and leave. We had a few things but the best was seafood mixed platter which was huge, with lobster clam shrimp and spectacular fish, and a grilled octopus appetizer, which was superb. They also don’t serve coffee. So you know that it’s time to go when your meal is up but the Greek dessert is fenomenal.

We went for lunch. Though it was busy we were able to get a table for four. We ordered some Greek beer and white wine with our appetizers. Due to COVID there was seating outside which was great on a summer day. The assortment of dips was good. The Greek salad was amazing. Also the warmed bread. For mains we had the Branzino and the lamb chops and the grilled calamari for mains. The portions are huge with the sides. The Greek potatoes and the beets were excellent too. The best part is the also the dessert you get at the end. The service was excellent and very friendly.

Stumbled across this delightful restaurant when staying locally. After a long day of walking and sightseeing in Manhattan, a lady in the street recommended this place and I’m so glad she did.
I went for the lamb chops and lemon potatoes which I had been advised were a house speciality. A taste sensation.
Service was great despite it being super busy on a Monday evening. I sat at the bar following a very short wait.
The complimentary dessert was also delicious.

This is a terrific place to eat . There isn’t anything we have not enjoyed , whether eating there or taking food home . Great food , big portions , quick efficient service . At the end of the meal comes the complementary dessert - they do not serve coffee or tea , but have traditionally offered galaktoboureko . The last two times on takeout , they substituted something else which was horrible . Not sure what it was - it couldn’t have been baklava because it was too dry and lacked any honey taste . Please stop doing that , or give the customer a choice . Granted , it is a nice touch to give a free dessert but when you are expecting the galaktoboureko and receive the new thing , anybody who tasted it would understand why I am complaining.

Just on the borderline of being chilly, but ate outside anyhow. Lots of outdoor seating. Food was delicious and fresh. Fried calamari appetizer was light, flavorful and not greasy. Yogurt and cucumber salad was refreshing. Lamp chops were grilled to perfection and grilled sardines were also very tasty. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant for exceptional Greek dishes.

We went here for my husband’s birthday and it was amazing! Everything was delicious! We had grilled octopus as appetizer which was soft. They give complimentary olive oil, olive bread. We ordered stiffed shrimp, fried red snapper and langostino. Everything was amazing. They give a complimentary dessert as well.

It wasn't our first time at Kyclades, but it was at this new address. We liked a lot.
Hearty dishes, as the Greeks usually offer :-D
Friendly service from the waiter who made good suggestions and was attentive whenever we wanted something.
Typical, family atmosphere, with busy tables. It's worth arriving early to avoid waiting too long for a table. Fair prices.
