A great place to start the day

If you follow the advice to start your day with a good breakfast then this is the place to go. Six of us loved getting breakfast here a couple of days in a row. There's a very extensive menu--lots and lots of options: traditional English and southern African, omelettes, egg dishes, pancakes.....and lots of good coffee. Over the two days we sampled many of the dishes and no one was disappointed. Everyone had a hearty breakfast. My wife said the cappuccinos were fantastic. There's something here for everyone. There's even a menu for dogs and we took the liberty of buying a breakfast for a stranger's dog! The friendly staff make it all the more enjoyable. The atmosphere is very friendly with funny signs/admonitions on the walls. There's indoor and outdoor dining and wifi is available. It's easily located in Swakopmund.

Worthy of their 5 Stars!

Worthy of their 5 stars even during peak season; on the busiest day of the year. There is a reason why there is ALWAYS a queue outside. I promise you; the wait will be worth it. Try their Terminators for "Ouma Se Brood" and their Tramezzini. And while you patiently wait for your food, ask for sticky notes and a Felt Tip Pen and write an inspirational/quirky phrase to put a smile on a fellow diner's face.

Awesome coffee

May 2022 - visited for breakfast. The Village Cafe was a great place to eat. Friendly and unpretentious service, excellent coffee, cozy atmosphere. My partner and I enjoyed coffee, ham and cheese toastie, and a breakfast wrap. Menu has something for everyone. We are staying at the nearby Swakopmund Luxury Suites and they provided breakfast vouchers for several local cafes. We asked around and several locals said this was the best choice. Hard to disagree! Absolutely loved this place - no problem giving a recommendation. Great food and service.

Melkkos (Milk Food)

The Village Cafe in Swakopmund is located in the center of town and a good place to enjoy a light meal or grab a cup of coffee at. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating: the indoor area is cozy, and the outdoor seating is decorated in a colorful village style. A friend recommended that I try the Melkkos (directly translated to Milk Food), a traditional South African sweet dish predominantly made with milk, sugar, flour, and cinnamon. I'm glad I did, because it was delicious! They really did the dish justice as it was sweet and creamy and perfect for a colder day in Swakopmund. Although I only tried the Melkkos, their menu has a nice variety of other dishes as well including some specialty coffees. Initially the service was a bit average, but the manager came over and made the experience better. She was friendly and attentive, and ensured that we had everything we needed. Overall, if you are looking for a café to relax in after exploring what Swakopmund has to offer, I can definitely recommend visiting The Village Café, especially to try the Melkkos.

There are great seating ath the rear part of this great place with wonderful staffs. The guys and gals who work here are the smiling lot. Only thing is that we ordered some food that warranted an acquired taste. Otherwise, would have given 5/5. Only 4/5 this time.

Quircky place with great food

Nice and relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, good food, funny menu. The decor of the place has lots of beautiful and colourful touches. Probably my best meal in Swakopmund. On offer are dishes like burgers, omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches and more.

Best Cafe in Swakopmund!

We asked our guide at Fat Bike Tour Swakopmund where we should go in town for a good coffee- without hesitation he said “Village Cafe” and no wonder! Great coffee, a delicious choice of food and superb, friendly service. If only we had room for one of their cakes. Don’t miss Village Cafe!

A gem lunch spot

You could easily walk past The Village especially if it looks busy from the pavement but don’t be mistaken as it opens up into a vast cafe. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the menu is a quirky in its descriptions but also plentiful in its choices and the food itself was very tasty. The veggie amongst our ranks was also well catered for with plenty to choose from. We were there for lunch on a Thursday in winter and it quickly filled up with locals and tourists. Suspect we will return before we leave.

Quirky cafe with fast and frindly service

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. As soon as we walked in we were immediately assisted in finding a table. The place was quite busy with customers -popular place. Even though it was full the service was very fast - we barely had to wait for anything. The menu offers a wide range of breakfast and lunch meals. I quite liked the decor and ambience - it's quirky and fun.

Always a good place to visit just drop in for that quick cup of tea/coffee - rest the feet between shopping - meet a friend for a bite to eat - lovely atmosphere. One can enjoy a great breakfast or some homemade cake. Very popular for many years with the locals. Visit them on a regular basis.

What a fantastic place. Quirky fun, friendly, and the best of all the food is superb. As we had booked an Air BNB which did not have cooking facilities we opted to seek food elsewhere. Whilst exploring the town we came across this gem. I can not recommend this place enough. Definitely go and experience it

We were referred by locals to the Village Cafe for a real Namibian experience. This was an excellent brunch, amazing staff and vibe. The portions were a good size and well prized. Was lovely to see many locals around

Excellent service and cheerful waiters. The food is good and reasonably priced. Can be a bit of a wait if they are busy but that’s to be expected and since you are on holiday it doesn’t matter 😀 Great choice for breakfast or lunch Very nice garden section through the back of the Cafe

Lovely experience, very friendly staff

We had a very enjoyable breakfast at this establishment. The food was great, and Ma se brood sandwich really an experience. The coffee with condensed milk was also really nice and my husband had two cups! The highlight was the very friendly staff who served us.

Quirky Cafe in Swapkomund

What a great find! This cafe was so quirky and had a huge menu of yummy food. I had an almond hot chocolate and scrambled egg and smoked salmon on a roll. It was really tasty! Would definitely recommend this cafe.
