We have been to essaouira several times and one of the highlights of our visits is an evening at Cafe caravane.. We love the food.. The atmosphere and the entertainment and can highly recommend a visit.. And we have been seated upstairs with the musicians and had a great nights craic.. Back again in a weeks time can't wait

This restaurant is so alive! During our meal there was live music (but I want to note that it wasn't too loud, it was lively but not overpowering), a man who danced with fire, and a magician who came to our table and made us laugh. The food was good, probably 4 stars. The cocktails were underwhelming - the mojito... More

The Caravane Cafe work hard to ensure your night out with them is enjoyable. Along with good food, there is live music, a magician and a fire eater. The place itself is in a riad with colourful local artwork surrounding the tables. If you have a family with young children you will love it, or if going out with a... More

We walked in and were bowled over by the fab atmosphere. Amazing décor, live music - very buzzy. Having booked a table we assumed we would be in a good spot but unfortunately were taken upstairs. Upstairs lacked the fun lively atmosphere and was much quieter. Downstairs was sadly fully booked. We still enjoyed our evening - good service, comfortable... More

Visited this colourful, exuberant restaurant when visiting last year, so followed up again this year. Food isn't exactly great, but is fine, especially the seafood. What makes the Caravane Cafe really different is the atmosphere..the colours / the vibrancy / the lighting / the ecstatic musicianship of the resident band and the magician and fire-eater. All a bit of a... More

We came at 3.30 PM (girlfriend and myself), they said the kitchen is closed. Nevermind, such a great looking riad, we will just have drinks then. We got the best mint tea ever, seriously, and it didnt stop there. The Chef, or someone, I guess saw us a bit down after hearing we wont get food, so they made us... More

Took me time to find the place, it's a bit hidden. When we entered it was a very pleasant surprise, staff was amazing, always asking how we were feeling if everything was fine. There was a band playing some very nice music. The food was very good with many different taste. I would go back there for sure

This place offers food that is all style over substance. To keep this review simple: I ordered fillet steak, the meat was of poor quality but the real kicker was the plate was dressed in a fancy manner with dots of a red sauce around the edge which upon tasting was literally ketchup (with fillet steak), not home made in... Can 't understand that you did not complain on the spot . Surprised indeed , as the filet steak is one of our best sellers . Meat is not frozen in Marocco , bouchers close their shop when everything is sold . It might be even to fresh . As i always say , "you are the loser " as... More

I came to the Carvavane last year and this return visit did not disappoint. The atmosphere and decor is fabulous and unique. This time I got a table in the Marilyn room. The waiters are great-friendly and efficient-and the live music is excellent. I recommend the asparagus and goats cheese salad for a starter and the vegetarian korma as a... More
