If you fancy a change from tagines, cous cous etc you should try la Cantina. It's a bit off the beaten track but well worth finding. The four of us had cheese burgers, Mexican omlette, and chilli concarne, all excellent. Price 60-70 dirhams. Complimentary starter of olives, bread, and home made aubergine salad, potato salad and fine coleslaw - very... More

Beautiful restaurant with beautiful staff. One of us are Vegan and had no problems finding enough food to flatten me. Great music, good location. Very chilled. Thank you.

Tagine can get a bit much, well you wouldn't eat roast beef every day would you?? Today was such a day and after 3 days of lunch and dinner Moroccan, we just fancied a burger. Not holding out much hope, a search on TA came up with La Cantina. Great find. Quirky place. Small but beautifully formed cafe menu. Lunch... More

Was attracted to this place due to its pleasant location and it's claim to have the best burgers in North Africa, and it didn't disappoint. The owner was very welcoming, offering me sun lotion and a hat as we were sitting outside. After ordering our burgers a lovely appetiser appeared which was gratis, and it was a welcome treat to... Had our last lunch at LaCantina, and it is well worth a visit. Declan, the owner and waiter is friendly, obliging and charming. Food is delicious: had vegetarian burgers and fresh home made French fries. And great value for money..setting in a quite little square full of Moroccan life. Highly recommend a visit

We had been in Morocco for almost 10 days and were, well, tired of eating tangine. We were jonesing for a great burger. We had tried several places before walking through the medina in Essaouira and finding a chalk-board sign that quite proudly said 'Best Burger in North Africa'. It wasn't lunch time yet but we vowed to find our... More

I spent just 2 days in Essaouira and I'm so glad I spent a couple of those hours at La Cantina! Went with some friends for lunch, the host was a very friendly and laid back Irishman with some lovely ladies helping out in the kitchen. His dog Chilli is adorable and helps to keep the cats away from under... More

I really enjoyed this little cafe. We had lunch one day, we had the 2 different veggie burgers and it was delicious! Great salad on the side as well! We came back a second time just for tea and this time we sat inside so we had a good look at the kitchen. The irish man who runs the place... More
