We had falafel, tajine and shawarma. None of us liked the food. Propably it was just warmed up and not prepared fresh. The salad was not fresh, the meat was dry.

We were in Essaouira for a day trip and had originally planned on eating at the fish market but I'm not the highest fan of a lot of fish so it was a bit much for me. We ended up compromising by going to a restaurant that had other options too. We stumbled across Dar Al Houma by accident and... More

We had a dinner here, ate couscous, tagine and pastille. All vegetarian and they were amazing. Especially royal couscous and tagine. Best we had. Must visit when here.

We got invited in after we had just landed and we were absolutely delighted by the quality of the food and how cheap everything was. We had the aim of not going to the same place twice but the food was so good and the prices so reasonable that we returned on the last night. Best tasting fish, juice, soup... More

Talk about not judging a book by its cover or a restaurant by its decor. We all had doubts as we took our seats in the rather ramshackle interior. But we couldn't have been more wrong. Every dish was a delight - sole, sardines, octopus, tagine. The proprietor was a larger than life performer. It was an evening to remember.... More

The food here is good traditional moroccan food and was fresh. It felt like we had been invited to someone's front room. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and had many young people working for him. Although other reviews have said they did not like the disagreements between staff, this added to some of the homely 'real' atmosphere. The... More

This restaurant isn't too bad, but I've had better meals in Essaouira. The grilled fish was burnt and dry, the prawn and calamari tajine was nice but not as tasty as others I've eaten here and one had burnt on the bottom. Royal lamb tajine delicious but oily. Shish kebab good but dry. Creme caramel delicious. We were told we... More

Had a 3 course lunch meal here, everything was delicious made with fresh ingredients. Home made Harissa, marinated olives and bread were very good too. Portions are generous. Fish soup was excellent! The ambience is traditional Moroccan and the owner is a nice and genuine man. Service was good. Definitely will come back for more.
