About

The company's initial business name is 'Kira Sushi' which was established in year 1999.(The restaurant is very well-known for the freshest sushi in the area). Then in February 2012 the restaurant remodeled and added pan-asian & chinese cuisine to the menu and the business name changed to 'Kira Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar'. The original owners remain.

awesome sushi and great service

I visited Sunday night after a very hard day and was grateful to be fussed over and cared for at the sushi bar by both the server (alas, I spaced on his name) and even the sushi chefs who made me a great amuse bouche. Highlights were amazing Chilean Sea Bass, 2 FANTASTIC cold sakes which were exceptional (they have a great selection) and a perfect smoked salmon and veggie roll. Food and atmosphere are always great here and I appreciated the extra care.

Superb sushi

My son ( local ) took us to this eatery hiding in a backstreet in downtown Greenwich(6 together ) . Decor is modern with Asian touch , good size sushi bar. , 6/10 noise level. , space a bit tight . Service is fast efficient. Menu is extensive , especially the many rolls offer . We ordered both cooked food and sushi . The cooked items were good , sea weed salad ( two kinds ) , dumplings , tempura ( not crispy ), spinach veggie , Siu Mei, fried rice with veggie and chicken ( very tasty ) . Theses items came out fast despite the place was fully packed on a Tuesday ( 60/80 people ) , with a busy take out business too . The kitchen is well managed. The sushi here is the best in the area , better than some of the high price place in NYC .We had tekka meka( very good ). ,live scallop on a shell ( sweet fresh , yum). The toro , yellowtail and maguro all superb , fresh , shining and taste 5 star 🌟 . Amy the server very busy , always has a smile. , others including mamager helpful too. . Our bill 250 included some take out. , we ordered a lot and left happy

i have been eating sushi for 19 years and i’ve had it all over the world and i can still say this is the best sushi i have ever had. the fish was fresh and didn’t smell or taste fishy and the rice and avocado melted in my mouth. a little pricey but 100% worth it- can’t wait to go back.

Second Visit Better

Service was poor during first visit. Second visit a few years later. Lunch shortly after opening. Restaurant was calm and quiet. Service was much improved. Sushi was good and came with a surprise fried chicken wing. Much better experience.

Small Portions and mediocre at best

From all the restaurants in Armonk, Kira provides the smallest portions of all. Taste is mediocre and the hostess is obnoxious. You need us honey, we don’t need you so you better learn how to deal with customers. Remember, the customers are always right.

Used to be a favorite....

This used to be a favorite for lunch, but they have changed quite a bit. I was in the area so I decided to pick myself up one of my old favorites. I noticed the price had gone up a dollar or two and was ok with it because I thought I knew what I was getting. Unfortunately I was wrong. The dish used to come with 4 prawns, which was downgraded to 3. The usual appetizer was gone and they gave me French fries as an appetizer. I could not believe it. French fries from a sushi restaurant???? Needless to say I needed a real lunch after that and felt like I just wasted my $12. I won’t be returning any time soon.

Take out dishes, lunch specials nothing special

just average chinese/japanese food. lunch specials pricey compared to other chinese restaurants in town. plus the other restaurants give bigger portions at lower prices for better tasting food. we did not try any sushi.

BEST Hot and Sour Soup

We've never been disappointed with the food from Kira Sushi. They have a sister restaurant in Greenwich, but this review is for the Armonk location. While we like everything they make, their vegetarian hot and sour soup may be the best version of this classic dish ever made. It's especially good, since the classic versions served at most other restaurants always have some sort of mystery meat. This version is truly vegetarian (THANK YOU) and has the perfect blend of spices.

11.95 for a chicken teriyaki bento box including choice of soup; well -prepared but unexceptional; friendly service.I was looking for a more authentic japanese experience(cold soba on a hot day!)
