About
Dine 5 metres below sea level at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island's unique underwater restaurant. Marvel at 360° views of reef and marine life, sip champagne cocktails and dine in style at this spectacular Maldives restaurant - the world's only aquarium-style restaurant.Probably the most famous restaurant at the resort, Ithaa is the only undersea restaurant of its kind in the world. The dinner menu is equally special with luxurious ingredients such as caviar, lobster, or foie gras making star appearances. The lunch menu is lighter while the wine list offers the ultimate of wines: champagne. This is a once-in –a-lifetime experience to dine underwater watching the fish swimming by. Cocktail

Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, the world’s first underwater restaurant, is one of the top attractions at the Conrad Rangali resort. While we’ve been underwater at a handful of aquariums, it was quite an experience to be under the ocean. The set course meal price for the...lunch and dinner were astronomical so we did the champagne visit for about $125 per person. We were disappointed with the lack of marine activity in the waters but still got to see several sharks up close which was amazing. It’s an expensive hour, but a unique experience.More

Be sure to make a reservation. I was debating if I should go for lunch & dinner, and dinner was the way to go because we had daylight for about 1 ½ hrs before it got dark. We saw so many reef sharks, colorful reef...fishes and they came so close to us. Every one of us was so excited and took so many pictures. It took us a whole hour to calm down. The 7-course dinner was not the 3 Michelin star quality, yet the flavor and the presentation were superb. The ingredients were fresh and top quality. It was truly once in a life kind of dining experience.More

It was a prize winner voucher that I received for the 20th Anniversary for (working with Hilton & Conrad) I have worked with Hilton Family for 21+ years, and my dinner experience in Ithaa Undersea was one of the best experience, I have had before...I leave the beautiful Island of Rangali in 2019. me and my wife had dinner in July 2018 and it is bit too late to write a review about our experience, however I would say that experience can be shared at any time and there is no time to mentioned the great experience with fellow travelers. on the same note I would like to mentioned that the team at the Conrad Maldives is a well known for there great service and friendliness.More

Absolutely unmissable. Food is incredible and it is an experience like nothing else ever, seeing the fish and sharks swim past as you enjoy a Michelin-quality meal.

We had planned to have dinner at Ithaa underwater restaurant, but at the last moment we changed our mind to do a “brunch” with includes time 11am-12.00 noon, that gets you photo opportunity plus a glass of champagne and couple of canapés! We were lucky...as we have been alone in this restaurant that can seat 12 people. Of course, coming to Conrad Maldives, this is a must see and you really get some fantastic photos down there. The restaurant lies 3-5 meters under water and you can really relax and watch colorful sea life all around. This pleasure is priced at 85USD +10% service plus 12% tax, while 7 course dinner would cost you 330++ with no drinks included.More

They say that you can always find the menu on-line, so I did, and it looked so good that we booked from home. When we arrived at Conrad, our hostess Jamie sent us another menu by email. Ok, not as good as the one we...found ourselves, but anyhow... When we were at the restaurant it turned out to be a totally different and third menu! I was quite annoyed by that actually, and it is not ok considering the price! 😕 The food was ok, but nothing special. Anyhow we had fun, and it was a very special experience to dine under water and watch all the fish 🐟. It was once in a lifetime, I’m glad I tried it, but I would not do it again.More

Love this restaurant!!! It will amazed you while having lunch !!! I spend more time watching all the fishes and sharks instead of my lunch... I believed it’s better to have lunch instead of dinner because of the view... excellent staff! Highly recommend!!!

Dining at ithaa would have been a highly recommended experience if not for the very poor service we encountered. It felt like we paid the price that is equivalent to the most upscale 3 Michelin star restaurants in nyc (more than 500usd for a 4...course lunch for two), but received service that was worse than a local diner. There was only one other couple other than us for our lunch seating so there was only one waiter waiting on us, and throughout the entire meal, he devoted his entire attention on the other table going at lengths about the marine life around the restaurant with them while we were left mostly neglected. We were never asked whether we wanted still or sparkling water, whether we wanted wine before our wine glasses were removed, whether we wanted more bread refills or whether we wanted tea and coffee after our meal. It was only when we were only about to leave and saw that the other couple was enjoying their post-meal beverages that we realized that tea and coffee (and even truffles) was supposed to be included in our meal but we were never offered nor served. Bearing in mind that the restaurant is tucked in a basement, we had to climb a long narrow staircase up to ask why we were not served our beverages, only to be told that we were supposed to be the ones requesting for it, which is frankly ridiculous for a restaurant charging fine-dining prices. Also, the waiter had vanished from the restaurant after serving the other couple their beverages, so how were we supposed to make our requests? In fact, this said waiter was condescending towards us right from the start when we asked to enter the restaurant since it was already the time of our reservation (1230pm). When we arrived at 1220pm, they would not let us enter claiming that they were still cleaning, but the restaurant was closed the day before, so shouldn’t cleaning have been done by then? Anyway, for the 10mins that we waited, no one bothered to ask us whether we wanted any drinks as well so the only silver lining is that by not asking us and presumptuously clearing our wine glasses, they had actually helped us save a considerable amount of money on drinks. The food itself was very average and none of the dishes really stood out. It felt like they were trying too hard to do fine-dining when all we really wanted was just honest, good cooking (like what we had during our dinner at Vilu). Dessert was particularly disappointing as it tasted pre-prepared and the pastry was already soggy. In fact, we did observe plates of food that were pre-prepared and cling-wrapped in the kitchen and for the price point that we are paying, I don’t think it is too much to ask for food to be made-to-order instead of pre-prepared. I did not feedback this to the hotel management during our stay as I did not want to ruin my partner’s experience of ithaa but looking back at my experiences during my trip in Maldives, I felt that my once-in-a-lifetime, bucket-list experience at ithaa had been considerably ruined by the service I encountered and I would strongly urge the management to redeploy someone else who is more service-oriented to work at ithaa.More

One of the reasons we decided to stay at the Conrad Maldives was to be able to visit Ithaa Undersea Restaurant. Our reservation here was the first we made. We opted for the prefix lunch dining experience and it was excellent. Lunch was a four...course meal that was very good. My wife has several dietary restrictions so we spoke to the chef the night before and made them aware of these restrictions when we booked. The chef was able to create all four courses for her even with her dietary restrictions. I went with the standard meal and was very happy with the food. While this is certainly the most expensive lunch we’ve ever had, it was worth it for such a unique experience. Definitely make a reservation 14 days in advance if you’re planning on visiting.More

You’d need to check with the Conrad Hotel for schedules and route. The only regular transportation is via sea plane.
