Kebaya is the place to go when you want to go some place special. it brings you back to the time when Penang as at its richest - and you can get a sense of the opulence the city once had. The menu isn't traditional Peranakan at all, but a good modern take on Peranakan cuisine and ingredients. It's definitely... More

I can see why this is rated number 1. The food was amazing - a beautiful fusion of asian and western. Great quality and also great service. The inside decor was beautiful too - a restored heritage house. So for me this was a great Georgetown/Penang area. Although much more expensive than street food, for 125RMB++, this is actually a... Went here as our first restaurant in Penang. Enjoyed a special birthday dinner. Fixed menu with great choices. Fantastic traditional decor, charming staff, beautiful building. Only "complaint" was that it was difficult to ask for dishes with no chilli to turn down the heat on dishes - which then limited the choices. Duck buns sous vide were out of this... More

This is the best Peranakan in town. Not that much French or fusion. You must always book a few days in advance. Parking is limited on Stewart Lane. Even at 10pm a lot of tourists were having coffee along the street so it is not as dangerous as locals fear. Of my three entrees the pai tee was forgettable (the... More

This restaurant is actually called a dining room annexed to a lovely private hotel. It really is fine dining and in my opinion up with the best restaurants I have eaten at. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. Good wines and again excellent ambience. Any trip to Georgetown this should be included.

Really delicious nyonya food with lovely ambiance. The food is not too spicy so they are perfect to bring friends from overseas. Beautiful heritage building and great for photos too. Reservation required as they are usually quite full. Can be a little noisy and the servers though very polite and nice can be quite busy so getting service requires a... More

This restaurant serves classic Straits and Indo Chinese cuisine. We have eaten here three times over two visits this year. Set in the stunningly restored Seven Terraces Hotel. Dining is in a beautifully appointed Straits style room, with a small bar attached. Set 4 course menu with several choices in each area. All the food tried has been exceptional. Definitely... More

Kebaya is a good restaurant that offers tasty food, good ambience and service, but at a price. The Setting is nice within the Seven Terraces Hotel in the old part of Georgetown. The cuisine is not authentic Nyonya - if you want that there are plenty of other, less expensive, options.

We had a sensational meal here, everything we ate was very well cooked with great flavours. As others have said you do get the impression they don't want you hanging around but that is quite common in other places in Malaysia. Still worth a visit!

One of Georgetown's finest restaurants located in the boutique Seven Terraces hotel. Nyonya cuisine served over four courses with sufficient variation on the menu to enable a couple or more persons to experience pretty much all on offer. Delicately spiced with hotter spice served on request. Sophisticated dining amid a sophisticated yet traditional ambience.

Thank Matthew L

Kebaya is the diningroom of the Seven Terraces and is open to hotel guests and the public.Open daily, 7pm till 10pm.Christopher Ong has worked with the hotel’s chefs to create a menu of classic Indo and Straits Chinese Nyonya dishes. They have refined these using French cooking techniques and innovative produce to deliver surprising new twists on this already fascinating cuisine. The effect is simple, delicious full of flavour and dazzling.A four course degustation menu of entrée, main course, vegetables and dessert is served in Chinese style to allow guests to share the dishes. The Baba Bar is open daily from 2pm onwards, with live piano music in a very intimate setting.
