Had a good Peranakan lunch at Mum's Cuisine. Good value for money for authentic Penang Peranakan food. Friendly service. If unfamiliar with Peranakan food just order what the staff recommends.

Friend brought us here for dinner as recommended online. Restaurant was quite packed when we arrived, but we got a table quite soon. The food was not bad, but our favourite was the otak! Goes down very well with the rice. It is worth a visit to try their food.

The first time we went there, the "hong bak" they served had already gone "bad". I informed them and they promptly took it away. Okay, thought I'd give them another chance and went again. This time we ordered the fish curry and it was two standard slices of garoupa. I had a shock when the bill stated RM140.00 for that... More

Hi Gasman. Thank you so much for your feedback and we do apologize for your unpleasant experience dining with us. We are pretty sure there was an error for your two slices of fish meat as it's suppose to be only RM70, not RM140. Gasman, we have been in the business for over a decade and we would like to... Food was really good and I don't care if it is or isn't authentic (as some complain it isn't) the place was packed with local families and they clearly know where they want to eat. When in Penang avoid the tourist restaurants - and that doesn't only mean frequenting the food courts!

We were recommended Mum's Nyonya Cuisine by the concierge in our hotel and we were very happy with the recommendation. The food is delicious and we enjoyed every mouthful! The restaurant is simple and unpretentious but the food and service is good and the ambience authentique. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!

This is Nyonya style food at its best. Joining Malacca and Singapore as the key hubs for the Nyonya Baba culture, Penang food is something not to be missed. Tucked away In Abu Siti Lane, Mum's Nyonya Cuisine, appears understated. However, the food is not!! My family and I were brought up on this with a mother whose cooking lineage... More

I have been away a long time and we had only two nights in Penang. As third generation Nyonya ourselves, my sister and I had to pay homage to the best of the best. A quick check on Google pointed to this little unassuming restaurant in Aboo Siti Lane. We ordered ALL the must-haves* and we weren't disappointed to say... More

In a quiet back lane with good food, cooked authentically. Good variety of nyonya food available. Can get quite busy, so go on a weekday evening and advisable to book
