The restaurant specialty claypot crab glass noodles was a disappointment. This restaurant is in the suburb and recommended by a few foodies blog. Not worth the money at RM 119 per pot with 1 crab ( 160rm per kg) as there is hardly any meat in the crab and the crab meat was tasteless. The soup with the glass noodles was strong in peppery taste, it was so so and nothing to shout about. We ordered 4 prawns in a buttery sauce for 30rm which tasted ordinary. A salted egg fried squid at 25rm tasted good. Our bill total is 200 which includes a big bottle of beer, a small rice and a soya sauce choy sum. It is expensive but a disappointing meal

The food is pretty good but not something that we will crave for if we do not return to the restaurant. Service is good, hygiene level is average. But also because there were only 2 of us, we couldn’t order most of the famous dishes which may taste better than what we ordered. Overall, pretty good to try out but not excellently great.

we were looking for a sit down Chinese style place and this place was recommended, north ipoh and really quite off the tourist path. not a big menu but really all good, eel with claypot rice, big steamed fish, spicy la la clams, pork ribs, fresh vegetables, highlight was the steamed fishballs, probably the best i have had in a long way. coffee shop place with a tarpaulin corner, an adventure in the thunderstorm that roared while we ate!

When we just settled in the restaurant, we saw the fat man (presume is the owner) was quarreling with the customer who he took order from. We sensed is due to impatient of the fat man who cause the argument. Other staffs on the restaurant chased the said customer away to avoid the fight between the fat man and said customer.
After the customer was away, we still stayed at the restaurant and the fat man attended to us for the order. Luckily enought that we have done homework earlier, we have just ordered 3 dishes with him in a very quick timing. The glass noodle crab, squid cooked with lemon glass and fish ball, it cost us RM 199 for 4 of us. And the food is taste ok only.
Before we finished, the staff already start collecting the dishes and the action of the staff like chasing the customers away.
This is my 1st and last visit to this restaurant. Is really nightmare for us when we saw the argument which almost turn into a fight. Terrible and really terrible.

the crab noddles is the best I tried. The rest of the food is average. It is a bit out of town, only problems is there are flies.

The food is always good but this time the overall experience was spoilt by the order taker (big bald guy) who was most rude. Scolded our guests for requesting for certain dishes as he only wanted to take orders from one person. No suggestions on what’s good. Thank goodness we read that certain dishes are good.
Also told us if we don’t hurry up and order, he will go to the next table. I know that business is good but no need to be arrogant.

Went here for dinner..NO ONE come to take order and we have to ask a few staffs to get the ONLY person that can take order. When the person came, we asked what is on as there was NO MENU for us to see. The staff , a fat man (presume to be the owner ) was impatient and told us to order faster. HOW COULD WE WHEN THERE WAS NO MENU FOR US TO REFER. WORSE ATTITUDE EVER. AM PHOBIA TO GO IPOH with such a place exist. We left after paying for the drink . WILL NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. IF I CAN GIVE 0 OR NEGATIVE STAR I WOULD .

If you’re in Ipoh and have a car, drive yourself to this restaurant in Bercham. It’s a popular place amongst locals and tourists alike, because of it’s yummylicious seafood dishes. Best to call and reserve a table if you’re into clay pot crabs with glass noodle so that you won’t be disappointed. The must order dishes besides it’s clay pot crab glass noodle includes: sotong Thai style, unagi clay pot rice, fish ball, etc.
But be prepared to wait!

Yummy nice local seafood restaurant - must try - ** clay pot glass noddles soupy crab, fresh and tasteful cooked with ginger, wine and pork slices.
** try their lemon grass squid - sotong too, yummy tasteful and fresh.
** roast chicken - crispy skin tender juicy meat paired with side pickle papaya.
** slightly at the higher price point, a clay pot glass noddles soupy crab cost RM152 ( for 3 person )

Most people come here for the few signature dishes: the claypot glass noodles with crab, fish/seafood porridge and fish balls. The items are very nice and the seafood quality is good, but a bit pricey.
Gets crowded on the weekends, so be prepared to wait.

Food was ok, except for the mutton which was a bit hard. We had crab in vermicelli which was pre booked. It's was really expensive at RM140 a kg. Tried it once, and we think it's not worth a second visit

Our first choice for Claypot Crab Tanghoon was closed for business and we quickly searched for alternative nearby. This Kedai Makanan is within 1km and we decided to try out.
They have the similar menu of what we are looking for. The claypot fish fillet was also good. We also ordered the famous fish balls. We were lucky as the main dish claypot crab tanghoon normally needs pre-order...however, as we were early and we managed to have the dish.
We had a happy dinner and we will visit in the future again.

The crab in glass noodles and pomfret porridge are the best of their dishes. This is what I prefer to call comfort food. Delicious and satisfying. You may want to dress light here because it's hot. Be prepared for mosquitoes as well.
