A must eat when in Ipoh. There are many similar restaurants in Ipoh. Lou Wong restaurant can considered a popular place to eat. Its best eaten with Hor Fun (flat white noddles). However, many locals preferred the opposite restaurant which they said is older than Lou Wong restaurant and chicken taste is even better.. Will try next time to compare.... More

Bean sprout chicken is the iconic chicken rice of Ipoh. There are several shops, but having tried them, Lou Wong is still the 'granddaddy' of them all and is the safest bet. Chicken and bean sprouts are nice, meet expectations. Goes well with either rice of hor fun. Service is as fast as it could be (seems chaotic but apparently... More

It is one of the popular beansprouts chicken place (some locals do argue that it is more touristy), but it is worth a visit. Good news is that they now have a new branch in old town, which is just next to Thean Chun! We ended up here because of a heavy rain, and it was only 4pm. So we... More

I've been here on two different occasions and was promptly served as soon as I got a table. The chicken rice and hor fun were quite yummy and cost about RM 50+ for 4 person. Parking might be a problem around the peak hours but if you wait, there should be a place for you.

Just a normal chicken rice shop. Been there few times, every time when I travel to Ipoh. Not to say is very good or very impressive, but is just kind of because is the signature of Ipoh :) The place not is very clean, especially the floor, got tissue paper and chicken bones, a bit uncomfortable.

You wont miss it! During the evening, everyone in the area will be having this and it'll possibly be one of the most crowded dining place. Seen quite a number of branches at different area and might be under the same boss. Chicken is succulent and the rice is similar to the traditional chicken rice ball taste. Somewhat different from... It's the famous restaurant in ipoh that you can't miss it. No many dishes for you to choose there, ordering the chicken is a must. The taste is so localized that you cannot find it elsewhere like penang, HK, or even GuangDong. For me, the sauce of the chicken was a bit too oily, but the meat was very slippery,... More

Once upon a time, the allure of Lou Wong's Bean Sprout Chicken was compelling enough to merit a late night drive to the place. As it had been about six years since my last visit, I made a trip to Ipoh last month to sink my teeth into the succulent 'Nga Choy Khye" (Bean Sprout Chicken). Upon arrival at the... More

Eaten at both restaurant both lou wong and ong kee last year. Today tried again to re- review. Was rather disappointed with the noodles shown as it was warm and noodle clump up together. Chicken tasted was slightly tasteless but tender. The standard remain was their bean sprouts. Tourist trap a not is for you to decide. Will definitely come... More

Taste-wise is above average but the service is very hostile. When the next table asked for recommendation, the "Service" crew without a word pointed to the menu board with a sour/black face. This is definitely a place to trap or lure tourist. A meal for 4 adults came to RM70+ which is quite costly for just poached chicken and this... More
