Went to Thompson's not knowing what to expect, was completely blown away! Such a nice and classy establishment with a beautiful and sunny tea seating area. Had the most delicious tea available in the highlands and immensely enjoyed the afternoon trying all of the teas they had along with the scrumptious finger foods. The scones were to die for. Amazing... More

I am back here after almost 20 years and the place is much better than it was then. Much bigger and more opulent. The Tea (tarek) and Massala Tea (new) was exquisite, Scones, Fresh Strawberry Jam and cakes galore all served in typical Brittish style was a throw back to the Colonial era of the Highlands. Mr. and Mrs. Bala... More

Nice place to stay and you have the best view of Cameron highlands from this place . One should take house on the top so can njoy the early morning sunrise. The morning breakfast and tea was nice.

We had a quick stop at Bala's for the scones based from our friend's recommendation. I am not really fond of scones but the ones they sell here are very tasty! Our scones are served with homemade strawberry jam and cream and we ordered extra because it's worth the price!

Experience: This is the worst hotel we have been. The lady boss n owner Mr Bala believe to be an Indian were extremely RUDE.We had called/confirm with them that we intended for early check in and they told us no problem as there's still alot of room availability for us.When we reached there early morning the reception area/front office was CLOSED... I went to stay a night with my friend in this place. The surrounding and decoration attracted us but if you are looking to capture a few photos of this property, forget about it. We were rudely chase out by the Indian old man (the owner) even we were guests staying at this place. Situation went worse after we decided... More

Lovely place to visit. Price is steep but I had wonderful service from a staff member named Vegas. He will fill you with interesting information on the history of the place. Menu is limited. Go for the charm and do take a walk around the grounds.

Thought it was a english tea but it is just tea and scones. A pot of tea with two scones -rm22.50. A strawberry ice cream for rm16.50. Nothing special. No view at the tea house. Just a quiet garden.
