Had a great evening with friends over dinner. Service was great and so was the food. Seems modern with a touch of old.

Good ex pat pub on Dostyk Avenue, Almaty. Great mix of europeans and locals on Fridays and weekends. Excellent food and great service. Good menu and would recommend the Indian dishes. The owner, Sam, always has time for a chat and makes his customers feel welcome. Just go , eat, drink and enjoy.

Good ex-pat bar. Reliably good food, the curries and butter chicken particularly good. Service is better than a lot of places in Almaty.

Shakespeare is the typical english pub with international beer brands and the occasional expats. Its a place where you can get a lot of good information about life for foreigners in Kazakhstan while sipping a lager or a glass of wine. They have indian cusine as well as the traditional fish and chips...

When a friend told me "we're going to eat Indian at the Shakespeare" I was puzzled. Then it seems that it's an open secret: the put features an Indian chef and Indian cuisine is indeed fine. My chicken korma was dry (so actually the sauce was better than the chicken itself) but pakora was good and my friend's meal was... More

Went here to watch Premier League. Drink prices aren't that cheap and at first we were told we had to sit in another room as all tables in front of screens reserved. Of course no one turned up for their reserved tables so we were allowed to sit there. Beers were advertised as pints but most were smaller than pints... More

I wasn't expecting to eat amazing Indian food at a pub but I did here. They had a great selection of beer on draft and the Indian Food was spicy and delicious. I would recommend this to anyone.

Was their saving grace. Most of the filtered beers on their list appeared to be off and the pub was pretty empty for a Saturday night. Food was OK. A real expat haunt, but probably the only pub in Almaty showing the cricket. Well done for that.
