Thick, milky broth and good pork. I got the chashu and my wife got the pork + soft boiled egg. Both were really good for 1820¥ total.

It was in a location easy to find around the main city. Good was great. I don't take ramen in soup, yet they offered rice othat than ramen. My husband and my son ate the ramen and they both enjoyed it very much. Their dumplings were also good !!

This is one of the most popular Ramen shops in Kagoshima. Their speciality is a pork Ramen. It is so tender, tasty and goes well with soup and noodle. And it is a bit different from noodle shops in other area in Kyushu. So if you are a Ramen lover, then it is worth to try, to tick the box... More

Ate ramen up and down Japan, this was my favorite. I went in the evening at 8-9pm and never had to wait, no thrills, just great tender pork ramen.

Went there based on the other reviews and would definitely recommend. Didn't seem to be too busy when we went at 8pm and got a table straight away. The ramen broth is amazing, truly beautiful depth of flavour. Pork is also melt in the mouth. Great value for money and best ramen I've had so far. Would recommend this place... More

Tontoro's pork ramen captures the essence of the volcanic island with its unique smokey taste that is unlike any other ramen I have had. Their Chashu (braised pork belly) on rice was also wonderful. Tontoro was originally recommended to me by a Japanese friend who lives beside the island of Kagoshima, and it was explained to me as a favorite... More

Found out about Tontoro on a youtube video. Went there around 1115am and got a seat no problem. We were seated on tatami floor so shoes had to come off and as it was the beginning of the day thankfully not stinky yet. Order their tontoro ramen and it was simply sublime. Pork was nice and fatty and just breaks... More

We had to wait in a small queue outside, but were sitting at the counter within a couple of minutes. We ordered (already outside) one of the ramen options (with pork and egg) and some dublings on the side. The food was very tasteful and very cheap as well (two bowls of ramen, one portion dublings and two draft beer... More
