A completely unique dining experience. You order your ramen and side dishes from a vending machine outside the restaurant. It spits out a bunch of tickets. You go to a personal stall/booth and a hand emerges from behind a bamboo curtain to take your tickets. A few minutes later they deliver your ramen. Kind of like going to confession for... More

Must visit ramen place. Long q during lunch time. Love the concept where you pay wt the vending machine, after that you will be sitted facing the wall which they will send u the food frm there. You can choose the noodle hardness and spicyness and many more. Definitely worth the price

I visited the franchise shop of Ichiran in Hong Kong before, and I love it. So during our stay in Fukuoka, we intended to dine at the Ichiran headquarter one night. The standard noodle was delicious. What amazed me was the building! The Ichiran ramen headquarter actually is a 12-level building, and that's kind of "wow".

So I've read many reviews about this restaurant and watched blogs online regarding it before visiting. Honestly, I just find it average. There was absolutely nothing wrong with their broth or noodles (props to them for giving diners choices regarding the fat content of the broth, the texture of the noodles and the overall spiciness), but I've had as good... I had the tonkotsu ramen with normal broth and the richness was just right for me to finish it. I normally don't finish the broth when eating ramen, but it tasted so good I gulped the entire bowl. :D

After hearing friends rave about the place, I had to try. This is the problem with expectations: had I not been told, it would have been better. The place thrives on high turnover so the tables are small. The menu is limited. So if you are not into pork or noodle, look elsewhere. Otherwise, it is probably worth a visit.

I visited ichiran alone. Ichiran is very famous so always busy. The taste is not bad for me but I don't know whether I'll visit again. However the table was easy to eat alone because the shape of table is library's.

I think Ichiran is a must go restaurant for your visit in Fukuoka. First of all, it is because of it's origination and the second reason is because of it's great taste.

So a restaurant that seeks to take as much human interaction out of the dining experience as possible? We sought this out after reading so many good reviews and had to queue to get in. We're not ramen aficionados but this did strike us as pretty mediocre despite being able to pimp up the flavour and heat. A interesting business... More

A must go ramen noodle restaurant if you go to fukuoka, soup, noodle is very good when you eat there. Bought the noodles packs and cook by myself at home, soup very different, not as good, so recommend only to eat there.
